Chapter 440

“Grroooaaarrr!”

“It’s done! It’s going down!”

The massive ship, enveloped in blood, plummets straight to the ground.

The one attacking the ship is a Titan-class weapon, a golem with a single fiery eye that’s burning up just like a spark.

This overwhelming golem, towering over 200 meters, is the crowning masterpiece of the Golem Lover and is known as the ‘Grand Floating Ship,’ one of the three great artifacts of Magic Engineering.

Robus wasted no time in sinking the remaining five medium-sized floating ships.

Now, all that remains are a few small ships and that bloodsucker!

“Everyone, attack! Titans, aim for the bloodsucker!”

“Understood!”

The elders pulled out their weapons, and a multitude of defensive turrets switched to attack mode, targeting the floating ships.

Just then, as Robus’s shells were fired toward the bloodsucker…

“…!”

Swoosh!

A torrent of blood surged through the sky above Proiden.

A colossal stream of blood engulfed them, instantly painting the sky red, as thousands of blood orbs floated into the air.

And the master of it all.

The Demon King of the One wrapped himself in a cloak of blood and smirked.

“…Crazy.”

─So you’ve managed to pierce through the blood curse derived from the Great King’s blood. That’s basic.

With a mere flick of his wrist, dozens of blood orbs zoomed toward Inoo, who was closest to him.

A scene unfolded in the blink of an eye.

[Guild) LV.89 Inoo has died.]

[Guild-exclusive buff is activated. You will resurrect within 5 minutes, once.]

Inoo is down.

“…Crazy.”

─But now, what will you do? Can you pierce through this infinite stream of blood with your strength?

“That’s something you can’t know until you try!”

Kuoooh!!

Golem Lover, aboard the Titan-class weapon, activated his powers, setting the machine into motion.

The Titan is one of the three great artifacts of Magic Engineering.

Activating an ‘artifact’ requires an immense amount of energy, but Golem Lover used his very long cooldown unique skill to power it up.

Zwooooosh!!

A blue beam burst forth from the Titan’s single eye, wiping out the spot where the Demon King of the One had been standing.

In an instant, the blood vanished like it was oxidizing, and the Demon King appeared again from a distance, laughing.

─It’s certainly a bit overwhelming in this state. If I’m hit too often, that might get dangerous.

“Of course…!”

─If I’m hit often, that is.

Thousands of blood orbs rushed toward the Titan.

The blue curtain that had covered the Titan managed to block them, but it didn’t take long for the shield to break, shackling the golem.

The Titan is powerful, but ultimately, it’s a crystallization made from the technology of Magic Engineering.

There’s no way to escape the erosion of power.

Eventually, the blue light emanating from the single eye shifted to red, forcefully ejecting Golem Lover from its top.
The external eye, spewing light, changed to a crimson hue as I forcibly unloaded Golem Lover from the top of my head.

“Uh, uh?”

─This could be useful. Perhaps even more useful than the Floating Ship.

“Wait, we agreed not to do this…”

─Didn’t I? When?

The Demon King of the One chuckled and snapped his fingers.

The blood-soaked Titan’s external eye emitted light and then…

“Ah.”

It was erased.

Floating Ship 99% off discount event LOL

I thought they were just trying to get a cheap boat related to the Great Cataclysm at first.

Now, the Floating Ship itself has become a huge controversy among Ranker Guilds.

But thanks to Leo throwing a fit, we found out there was a problem with the ship.

Something about an absorption spell? It absorbs power too easily, making it simple for opponents to hijack the ship.

So, when Lily asked them to reduce the price by 99% instead of blocking the raiding, they obviously told her to buzz off.

But what are they going to do if they don’t? LOL

They immediately sent the Demon King of the One to take control of the Floating Ship and attack. LOL

When she was pretending to be a Goddess, I really thought she was crazy.

In the end, they blew up all the ships using things like Titan Golems, but then they stole everything, killed everyone, and made them sign.

Looking at it this way, it’s a bit pitiful, but considering their karma is so heavy, I don’t feel that sorry for them. LOL

Besides, since Lily promised to improve performance, isn’t that a win?

─LOL

─Great Lily

─Sign it! Robus!

└Proyden is Elbrite…

└Isn’t it a bit too much though? Killing all those people and stealing without any problems?

└They gave it back, right?

└If you watch to the end of the broadcast, you’ll see it’s super easy to make. And Lily didn’t break the Floating Ship; she just controlled it.

└Compared to what they did, she’s practically an angel. How much terrible stuff did they do?

└For real LOL

└Goddess Lily

─But the Demon King of the One is super strong, right? He looked weak when he was getting beaten up by Lasty and Lily.

└Even so, he’s one who popped out of a Transcendent Masterpiece, you know?

└You think the Demon King of the One looks weak?

└Isn’t the Progenitor strong?

└Then just how strong is the Progenitor?

└Lasty and Lily have beaten him before. While using some cheap tricks.

─I think Lily is Rapina. There’s no way she can pull off that Raider stuff otherwise.

└For real LOL

└No way? Rapina’s someone else!

└Shut up, no way!

└Rapina is someone else!!

└Anyone can tell they look the same though;;

“Is it Rapina?”

“?”
At the very top of the tallest spire in the Proiden Kingdom.

I tilted my head while facing Robus, who had signed a ridiculously generous agreement of 99% discount while crying and eating mustard.

The elders had been going crazy over the matter, but the dissenting elder had already been wiped out by a beam of blood, so they had no choice but to approve it in the end.

I set my cup of tea down.

“Why do you think that?”

“It’s too late to catch me. I’ve already heard it from Golem Lover.”

“Um.”

Busted.

I thought I could hide it forever since it was mostly my fault, but I never expected him to spill it.

“What’s your purpose? Did we cause you any harm?”

“Nothing much.”

Clatter.

“If I have the floating ship of magic engineering, it will be a lot more helpful for the Great Cataclysm raid, of course, for everyone but me.”

“Serve for the greater good for free?”

“Don’t they know that already?”

Even though Robus’s job was a hidden one and he held the most crucial item for the Great Cataclysm, the cost of something the size of a small boat discussing hundreds of millions was excessive.

Robus kept his mouth shut.

‘This must be troubling for him.’

For him, Deoen was just a game.

The floating ship was just a great means of making money, merely a device recognized among numerous rankers and upper-tier guilds.

But.

“Isn’t it true that the game has to survive for you to continue selling it? If everything collapses, it would be utterly useless.”

“…You don’t think Deoen would let it get that far, do you? It’ll get ruined enough to allow for eventual recovery.”

In the end, the one managing Deoen was someone way up high.

Given that Deoen is a virtual reality game, it wouldn’t be completely destroyed.

However, in the process, countless residents and the world would die.

“The uncertainty is whether that recovery will happen for ‘everyone.’ If Proiden gets completely wrecked and submerged by a world boss, can recovery truly be possible?”

As far as I know, several areas affected by the world boss that showed up last year are still unrecovered.

Land polluted and abandoned because there’s no one willing to invest in recovery costs.

If we can’t stop the Great Cataclysm, such lands will increase immensely.

“……”

“So please produce as much floating wealth as possible.”

“…Alright. If I have to, I will.”

Robus nodded.

Although there wasn’t anything systematically binding us, what we had embarked on was essentially a guild war.

Having lost the guild war, Robus had few options left.

I informed him of various spells and functions that could enhance performance and security, and requested a few more things.
“Tell me about various magic and functions that can enhance performance and security, and I’ve requested a few more.”

Among those, the most important is…

“Is it for teleportation… a ship?”

“I need a ship that’s larger than a small one but smaller than a medium one. It should be specialized in defense and transport without cannons or special functions. Can you make it?”

“Well, it’s not impossible. A cannon and special functions would surely help…”

“What’s more important is the ship itself.”

To operate in the Kraken’s territory, the ‘sea,’ an ordinary ship is definitely not enough.

It’s not for nothing that the Kraken is called the graveyard of ships.

The floating ship looks like a vessel, but fundamentally it hovers in the sky, allowing a degree of resistance against the Kraken’s domain.

“The more functions you add, the more complex the circuits become and the more mana is consumed to handle the circuit load. The important thing is how much the users can resist in that space.”

“…I understand.”

Creeeek.

“Are you leaving?”

“I’ve got everything I need. I have to visit other guilds as well.”

“Yes, I’ll supply them in time. With about five days left, I think I can manage around 100 ships.”

I step out of the spire.

More precisely, I look back at him before leaving.

“…?”

“You’d better not do anything foolish again.”

“What do you mean…?”

“You knew the reason it was easy to raid.”

Could the person who created the ship truly be unaware that simply infusing power could lead to the raiding of the floating ship?

Especially after meeting multiple rankers just to sell it?

Robus’s expression turns serious.

“There couldn’t possibly be such a major flaw in a unique hidden class. You made it this way on purpose, didn’t you?”

“……”

“The purpose is to use it later again.”

They left the ship’s performance largely dependent on the occupant’s abilities, and in doing so, left the characteristic of being able to uncontrollably control the stolen ship later on.

If they made the ship, who could steal it more easily than them?

“Plus, they could easily say they were just designing it while they were at it.”

Of course, the priority for raiding was probably in the Magic Engineering field, but people well-versed in mana transfer, like me or Leo or the Demon King of the One, wouldn’t be affected.

If this fact spreads, the Magic Engineering Guild would face repercussions beyond what can be compared to now.

“…What do you want?”

“As I said earlier, it’s nothing special. Just supply the ships.”

That’s all there is to the role of Magic Engineering.
