“We’re going to hold a fan meeting to celebrate reaching 1 million followers! The venue will be at the Prime Art Hall in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and for those who want to attend the fan meeting, ticketing will…”
This was a post made in Kayak’s VTuber community.
Su-hyun, who rarely wakes up early even on weekends, luckily read the post as soon as it went up.
“Fan meeting…!”
It was news that could make her fluttering eyes snap wide open. With a foggy mind, Su-hyun started rolling around in bed before she jumped into looking up related information.

“Ugh…”
They say the early bird gets the worm. And indeed, it seemed so. There were more than just a few people awake at this hour who caught the news too.
The information was already circulating in various communities. Do these people never sleep?
Realizing she wasn’t the first to know the news filled Su-hyun with a mix of frustration and determination.
But she quickly let it go. In the end, it didn’t matter if she learned the news early or late.
What mattered was ticketing. If she failed to get a ticket, even if she wanted to go to the fan meeting, she wouldn’t be able to.
According to the post presumed to be made by Kayak’s manager, ticketing would take place tomorrow evening.
“Posting on the channel and then having ticketing the very next day…?”
Was this a way to keep the news from spreading too widely? Or maybe it was just Kayak being quirky and wanting to attract true fans like Su-hyun who obsessively follow her every move…
Regardless of the reason, there was something more crucial at hand.
“300 people? Are you kidding me?”
The total number of people allowed for the fan meeting was only 300. Just thinking about the fierce competition made Su-hyun’s head spin.
It was a hard fact to accept, but even 300 was a huge number. It wasn’t just a number she saw online, but a number she would actually interact with.
Compared to other streamers, this was by no means a small number. Typically, numbers maxed out at about 100 attendees.
This was a result of Kayak’s desire to meet many fans at once. Kayak’s uniqueness, which couldn’t simply be brushed off as just another streamer, was reflected in these numbers.
However, Su-hyun had no way of knowing these circumstances. Even if she did, as a fan, she couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed.
“Sigh.”
In the end, it was just a matter of her figuring out the ticketing on her own.

“Are you ready, Su?”
“Of course, Hye.”
The two girls looked at each other with serious faces, then quickly turned their heads away.
The screen they turned to displayed a white website, welcoming them with a picture of Kayak and bold text reading “Kayak Fan Meeting.”
There was one button beneath that couldn’t be clicked, with a countdown ticking down in real-time. When that countdown hit zero, they would be able to click the button and proceed with the ticketing.
“If this doesn’t work out, I’m not going to school.”
“Same here.”
If their parents were to hear such childish remarks, they wouldn’t hesitate to smack them on the back. But that only showed how serious they were about the Kayak fan meeting. At an age more interested in things other than studying, this was only natural.
“What if it doesn’t work? I’m really so nervous.”
“Don’t worry, even if you mess up, I’ll grab two spots.”
In response to Su-hyun’s anxious voice, Hye-rin thumped her chest as if to say, “You can count on me.”
And indeed she could. Each person could reserve up to two tickets for the Kayak fan meeting. Su-hyun was the first to share the news with Hye-rin, who also loved Kayak.
So, here they were at Hye-rin’s house, ticketing together, while picking up some know-how along the way.
“First, we need to check if the pop-up blocker is off. It’s okay at home, but in a PC Bang, pop-ups are often blocked, which can make ticketing impossible.”
“Right, right.”
Unlike Su-hyun, who had no experience with ticketing, Hye-rin was a pro among pros. She regularly attended concerts and fan meetings of famous idols, so it was like second nature to her.
That experience gave Su-hyun trust and hope.
“Use Chrome for the browser, and absolutely do not hit refresh.”
“Why?”
“If I say don’t, then don’t. Under no circumstances should you hit refresh.”
“Uh-huh…”
Just look at her. Even now, she’s so full of energy. The way she firmly fixed her gaze on me while emphasizing the word ‘absolutely’ felt incredibly reassuring.
The way she stressed the word “big” was quite reassuring.
Su-hyun had no doubt that Hye-rin would be able to push through the fierce competition and send her to Kayak’s fan meeting.
“Alright, then… Shall we start? Are you ready?”
“Yes!”
Five minutes before ticketing begins.
Su-hyun and Hye-rin faced each other, solidifying their resolve.
“It’s open!”
At Hye-rin’s shout, Su-hyun opened her eyes wide. Just as Hye-rin had said, the booking window had opened to welcome her.
“Don’t be greedy, aim for the middle seats…”
Calm, yet her hands moved swiftly. It was the time when Su-hyun poured everything she had learned from Hye-rin.
“No, no! Aaaaah!”
A desperate scream that no high school girl should produce echoed from across the room. It came from Hye-rin’s side.
Something was definitely wrong with Hye-rin.
The only place where there could be a problem was in the ticketing. She must have failed for some reason.
Was it due to the trust she had placed in Hye-rin’s abilities? Su-hyun gulped down as an unexpected tension surged through her.
That’s right. This was a battlefield. It was peaceful without a single gunshot, but a silent war was raging on.
Su-hyun was no different from a soldier dropped in the middle of war and had just lost her superior, Hye-rin.
Normally, panic would be the expected reaction. However, Su-hyun maintained her composure and diligently followed the steps she had learned from Hye-rin.
“Payment by bank transfer… Good, it’s all done…!”
That effort finally bore fruit. After completing all the procedures, Su-hyun gazed at the screen with a bright face.
*An error occurred during payment.
“Ah….”
She was soon able to see the result of her efforts.
“Uh… Did I fail?”
Hye-rin staggered over from the back room, her face awkward.
“Yes… What about you, Hye-rin?”
“Well, my mouse battery suddenly died in the middle… So I kind of messed up.”
In the end, that meant both had failed. Hye-rin, who had boasted loudly, couldn’t lift her head due to embarrassment, and Su-hyun simply couldn’t lift hers out of sadness.
“Shall we eat some spicy tteokbokki? The spiciest flavor…”
“Let’s do that…”
It was during the time when the two girls were chatting dejectedly.
“Did another announcement come up on Kayak Tube?”
“What announcement?”
Su-hyun, who was looking over something, raised her voice.
– Hello, this is Kayak.
It was an announcement like a ray of hope for those who had missed out on Kayak’s fan meeting.
– Thanks to everyone’s support, we have achieved 1 million subscribers on VTube! Thank you. Therefore, we’ll be holding a fan meeting for the 1 million event, but…
– Unfortunately, we can only meet 300 fans. This is something I feel very regretful about…
– Today was the ticketing day. Did you all manage to secure your tickets? Some of you might have succeeded while others may not have.
Before long, Hye-rin approached and joined Su-hyun in reading the announcement, letting out a small gasp.
“Oh…!”
– Unfortunately, for those who failed to secure fan meeting tickets, we will be holding a VTube live broadcast today.
– Think of it as a sort of online fan meeting.

The desire to meet more fans was strong.
However, no matter how many people they met at the fan meeting, there were limits. Booking a venue was a problem, and the more people there were, the more challenges there were in managing and preparing for them.
Limiting the number of attendees to 300 was precisely for that reason. 300 was a lot, but I originally thought that around 1000 would be fine.
But after hearing Yusia say there wasn’t a space for that many people and that they wouldn’t be able to do anything properly if a large crowd showed up, I understood. It’d be better to hold fan meetings periodically.
The idea that emerged as an alternative was this.
A virtual fan meeting conducted via VTube. It would soothe those who missed out on ticketing and provide a chance to practice how to interact with fans before the actual fan meeting.
Today, instead of a regular broadcast, they would go live on VTube to communicate with fans.
“There’s no difference from our usual broadcasts. It’s just on the VTube platform. Siya and I will be monitoring the whole time, so feel free to call us if you need help.”
“Okay.”
As Jae-jun’s words ended, the live broadcast began.
