Chapter 108

[Recruiting Students]

You can do it!

(Camilla is adorably pointing forward with a cute expression)

For those who always wanted to play Camilla but lacked the courage to take on the challenge, for those who picked Camilla but faced nothing but criticism from their team members and gave up on their dreams, and for those who wanted to try Camilla but thought it looked too difficult and gave up. Now is the time to take on the challenge!

*Reviews from outstanding students

(Picture of people holding trophies with both hands)

-Streamer NiX: The teacher is kind and teaches Camilla well.

-Streamer RiXyang: The sharp critiques are top-notch! It was a bit painful at first, but thanks to the teacher, I was able to escape from Bronze-Silver-Gold!

Hello, this is Kayak. The above was made to have a bit of an academy flyer vibe; how did it turn out? Doesn’t it feel like a famous instructor is coming in to give a lecture? I worked hard to put in the images, and it’s surprisingly realistic, right?

Yes, the introduction was long. As you can tell from the title, this is a notice to recruit students. Recently, Camilla has been showing up in tournaments and even ranked as a tier 1 on reputable sites, so it seems like her status is continuously rising. Because of this, many have been requesting educational broadcasts. It’s quite an encouraging thing.

So, following the requests from many, I plan to hold an educational broadcast. However, I think it might be better to take in students and conduct lectures rather than showing my gameplay.

Many of you may deny it, but most Abyss users are Bronze-Silver-Gold, after all. It’s unfortunate, but I don’t think our viewers are any different. Just because the streamer is a Challenger doesn’t mean the viewers are Challengers too, right? That’s why I thought it was important to conduct the education at the right level for everyone.

Still, looking at my past experiences, I seem to have some talent for teaching, so that’s a relief. Now, I just need to find a suitable student to set as an example, but there aren’t really any to teach.

Therefore, I’m recruiting students. You’ll have the chance to appear on a broadcast watched by about 15,000 people, and it might be embarrassing, but you can get one-on-one instruction from the world’s top Camilla streamer, Kayak.

The eligibility requirement is that your Abyss tier is Bronze-Silver-Gold. For now, I won’t be accepting anyone above that since this is a beginner class. If this education goes successfully, I intend to open intermediate and advanced classes as well.
I’m willing to offer courses up to an advanced level.

Only those who are serious about Camilla and want to improve their skills with her should apply. No other heroes will be taught.

Since the education will be conducted through Discord, your Mike needs to be in good condition, and your voice must be broadcasted.

If you wish to participate in the training, please leave your Abyss nickname in the comments. We will select one person through a lottery during tomorrow’s broadcast.

– So what time is tomorrow’s broadcast?

ㄴ For real, the most important detail was missed, lol.

*

“Good evening. Hope you’re having a pleasant night. Have you all eaten? I was surprised to see the chat pop up while my broadcast is offline. It’s great that you’re waiting to watch my stream, but take it easy.”

[If you make a notification about when you’re going to start your broadcast, we wouldn’t have this problem, right?^^]

[You look pretty today too.]

[Non-stop cam stream is just so cozy.]

[For real, lol, 2000 people chatting in an offline broadcast.]

[The crazy ones keep the viewers waiting endlessly in the dead of winter…]

[Did you see it snowing outside since last night?]

[This place is nice, but the waiting is long…]

[I came in after seeing the bang-on notification, but you were already waiting?]

[Such strange people here.]

[When you come in after seeing the notification, you lose 5-10 minutes.]

[You gotta come in right when the broadcast starts, yeah.]

[I heard you’re picking a disciple today—is that true?]

[What’s the broadcast title? Camilla training stream?]

“Looks like some people came in without checking the bulletin board. Today’s content is a Camilla training stream. Yeah. Why am I writing in the bulletin instead of the gallery? … Why would I post the broadcast notice in the gallery?”

[Didn’t even know there was a bulletin, lol.]

[The gallery is easier to read, yeah.]

[How about we create a minor gallery for streamer Kayak while we’re at it?]

At around 7 PM, Kayak’s broadcast started suddenly.

Despite not being announced beforehand, viewers quickly began to pour in. To be precise, most of them were already inside the broadcast.

Along with those who were waiting after yesterday’s notice, there were also regulars who always kept the broadcast open no matter when Kayak went live.

Complaints poured in about why the content for today was announced but nothing about the broadcast timing was shared, and suggestions to move to another platform since the bulletin board (a community platform provided to streamers on Twitzy) was inconvenient.

Amid all this, Kayak seemed unaffected. Whether she was not paying attention to the chat or just choosing not to react to it, she calmly moved her mouse, engrossed in whatever she was doing.
Is she not aware, or is she just ignoring it? With a calm expression, she moved the mouse, engrossed in whatever she was doing.

The moment viewer complaints turned into petty whining was imminent. Since the streamer paid no attention and didn’t listen, it was like a child clinging to an adult and whining.

As a result, the complaints that had once filled more than half the chat window soon dwindled. Kayak had successfully quelled the rebellion. Whether this was the outcome she intended, no one knew.

Click-clack.

Kayak raised her hand, having stopped clicking the mouse, and just like that, the broadcast screen switched.

It wasn’t her usual computer desktop that appeared when she started the stream, but rather Kayak’s bulletin board starting to be streamed.

The post she had written yesterday. It included a notification that said, “No more comments can be added,” along with her comment stating that she would close applications at this point.

[This board really sucks, lol]

[You gotta make a gallery or a cafe, seriously]

[It crashes every time I log in on mobile]

[Why are the comments so intense, damn]

[It’s a chance to get tutored by the world’s number one Camilla user, Kayak (ultra-beauty), and you’re not applying?]

[Putting “ultra-beauty” in parentheses is a bit cringe]

[Why are these guys trashing bronze-silver while having so many comments? lol]

[Aren’t all Kayak’s viewers like Grandmaster Challenger?]

[Oh, I couldn’t apply because I’m Platinum;; I ranked up last month]

[I’m Master, so I’ll apply when the advanced class comes out, hehe]

[So what?]

<ㅇㅇ has donated 1000 won!>

-How do you pick the students? There are too many people!

“First, we’ll use this for the first round of selection.”

What Kayak pulled out was something the viewers were quite familiar with.

Number cannon. A program often used by teachers back in school. Currently, it’s widely used by streamers other than Kayak. There was nothing better for conducting a lottery for a large number of participants.

But the viewers’ reaction to this was quite intense.

[Wait, you’re picking with a cannon?]

[Shit, that’s just luck, lol]

[I wrote a comment in 3rd place, do I get any benefits?]

[I seriously pressed hard to write my comment!]

[Yeah, long comments are out even without the cannon~]

[Was the lottery really a ‘lottery’? Ah, lol]

“It’s the first round of selection. We’ll do the first draw with this, and after that, we’ll check the records. If it smells like a secondary account or doesn’t meet my taste, I’ll cut them and shoot the cannon again. Oh, if there’s no Camilla in the recent records, that’s an automatic cut. If Camilla isn’t in the most played? Hmm, if the most played is Camilla, that’s great, but even if it isn’t, you might still want to learn, so I might let that slide…”
“It’s a cut if Camilla’s not in the record. What if there’s no Camilla in the most? Hmm, if the most is Camilla, that’d be best, but even if not, I might want to learn, so maybe I’ll let that slide…”

Kayak, pondering for a moment, decided to just pick and see, entering the number into the cannon.

A total of 682 people gathered via comments. Considering it was only one day, and not even a full 24 hours, that was a surprisingly high number of applicants.

Boom—

Without hesitation, Kayak launched the cannon smoothly. It was a refreshing sight, and the cannon fire that followed startled some viewers into chatting.

The number written on the fired green cannonball soon became clear.

521.

That meant they were the person who commented 521st.

[But how do we find this?]

[Do we have to scroll through every comment and count? This sucks.]

[If they’re the 521st, they should confess themselves.]

[I’m the 521st ㅇㅇ Abyss nickname ‘Kayak’s foot mop’]

[What the hell, lol.]

Rattle.

Having checked the number, Kayak began scrolling the mouse wheel without a word. It seemed like he really intended to check the 521st comment.

However, his speed was so fast that the viewers watching the broadcast started to wonder. Was he just scrolling down or counting as he went? It was hard to tell.

After scrolling down for a while, Kayak’s mouse cursor finally stopped.

“I’m desperate, please pick me. My Abyss nickname is ‘Cutie Camilla.’ Camilla’s the most. My tier is Bronze, but I’m serious about Abyss and want to do well as Camilla… Hmm, I like the nickname.”

Kayak moved the mouse cursor around, reading the rushing comments, then left a brief evaluation on the nickname and switched the screen again.

What appeared was a famous record search site. The viewers instinctively realized. This was the secondary verification process. He’d likely search for the nickname to check the records and most.

[Let’s do an autopsy~]

[Cutie Camilla <<< Such a cute nickname.] [For real, Camilla’s more sexy than cute.] [Why’s Camilla cute?] [Please drop out, please drop out, please drop out, please drop out.] Among them, Kayak's stream had surpassed 10,000 viewers. Meanwhile, Kayak entered the nickname to check if the winner was suitable. The profile of the owner of the 521st comment, the applicant, was revealed.
