– Weak Camilla is dominating the battlefield!
– Lord of Fear Weak Camilla!
– “This is my ballroom,” Weak Camilla (Camilla) declares her territory!
Traversing with ease.
Weak Camilla dances around the battlefield like she owns the place, enemies falling like leaves in autumn, leaving not a speck of dust in her wake.
Viewers cheered for the refreshing Weak Camilla gameplay, yet I, the one playing, couldn’t hide my shock.
And of course, the reason is that the build I used was the “Stable Camilla (while enhancing mobility with daggers)” build.
It was a build I chose for exploration. After receiving a significant buff in the first match, I wanted to closely examine the differences using a solid build I usually use while trying out the new skin.
But this result? This is seriously a problem, isn’t it?
[The user "Kayak’s Real Fresh Milk Tong" has donated 1000 won!]
– Is there a problem??
“Camilla… is too strong.”
This build shouldn’t generate this kind of firepower.
After all, the weaponry consists of comparatively weaker daggers, and it was a build designed for mobility.
To fully utilize the build, team members should have assassinated the opponent’s heroes that they prepared, and then quickly moved to support the lanes that needed help—a playstyle that should have been the focus.
However, what does Weak Camilla look like right now?
The result diverged from the creator’s intended purpose of the build. She does retain the mobility, but instead of supporting or assisting, she’s just dashing around solo and killing everything in sight. Pinging back and forth to the extreme despite her frail physique is just the cherry on top.
Of course, she gained a lot from the early game and managed to snowball greatly from that advantage.
But isn’t this a bit too excessive? Just last week, this kind of power wasn’t on the table.
Shouldn’t she at least have picked up a two-handed sword or dual daggers to take enemies down in one hit?
If I’m this baffled, just imagine how confused the enemies must be. Something zooms past them so fast that they can’t catch it, yet if they just let it go, all their damage dealers melt away. If the tank swings, the formation collapses.
Everything melted away. If the tank swings, the formation collapses.
This went beyond just being strong and performing well.
Overpower, in simple terms, OP. Camilla had finally become an OP champ that surpassed tier one.
[Wow! Camilla! Camilla is OP!]
[Is there a time when Camilla will be OP?]
[It’s amazing to think that Kayak has been playing Camilla since season one, when she wasn’t even listed on the tier chart.]
[The Teacher must be feeling so emotional right now.]
[My daughter has grown so much….]
[You should be crying right now.]
[How much buffing did you give her? LOL]
[No wonder she seems to be doing better than usual.]
[Buffing only gives three lines, and that’s enough?]
[I gave her increased base attack power and defense growth, that’s about it.]
[There’s no bigger buff than increasing base stats, right?]
[This is a big problem, for real LOL.]
[With this, the nerf is guaranteed; good luck with that LOL.]
“It’s dangerous….”
However, I couldn’t just be happy. The worst thing I feared happened as I looked at the patch notes.
“If she’s too strong, she’ll get nerfed to the point of no return! You bad Eonix guys! Are you going to make things hard for our Camilla again?”
[Don’t use skills that are too strong… because she’ll weaken.]
[The top game company with the worst balance patches according to Forbes.]
[??? : Camilla’s power will be somewhat weakened in the attack lane, her defense capabilities in siege will be weakened, and her mobility… and variable creation ability…]
[Nooo! Eonix! Please don’t nerf her!]
[This much power in the Grandmaster Challenge rank? Nerf it immediately LOL.]
[Umm… Teacher, hang in there.]
[Well, now that this has happened, let’s just enjoy it until she gets nerfed.]
[Then what happens after she’s nerfed?]
[What do you mean, what happens? We’ll play other heroes.]
[Kayak… leaving her beloved hometown, Abyss.]
Having infiltrated behind the enemy, she successfully dribbled against three opponents, finally defeating the enemy ADC and returned to the friendly base alive.
Then came the countless pings and chat messages from her teammates.
-Tempest (Nixon) has targeted CamillaWeak (Camilla)!
-Tempest (Nixon) has announced that the enemy has disappeared!
-Tempest (Nixon): CamillaWeak – Survived!
-Tempest (Nixon): What was that just now?
-Tempest (Nixon): That was insane;;
-DualSwordMaster (Jerome): Kayak’s bus is sweet LOL.
“I didn’t do anything great….”
Of course, I couldn’t ignore my share as a pilot. Sure, the new buff was nice, but being able to play like this came from the skill I’d built up over time.
However, I couldn’t deny that it was a serious problem. An artisan-level user hitting the peak suddenly blowing up the game? And not just struggling like usual, but doing it this easily?
At this point, nerfs seemed like an unavoidable fate. Accordingly, there was a compromise on the table.
“Hotfix. The answer is hotfix.”
Hotfix. An emergency patch that’s done for serious bugs or serious balance-breaking issues outside of regular patches.
They say it’s better to take the first hit. Normally, it’s rare for a hero that already got nerfed by a hotfix to get nerfed again. Sometimes, hotfixes even hit harder than regular patches.
I was desperately hoping for just that. If I could only get hit by a hotfix instead of being dragged down by a regular patch, I’d walk away with just a couple of limbs chopped off instead of being completely dismantled.
“Please, please let there be a hotfix… Camilla is way too strong right now.”
[Prayer meter on]
[It’s a first for someone to beg for a hotfix]
[So that’s the secret behind hotfixes]
[Veterans are still the same, aren’t they?]
[LOL, just beg until your hands become feet]
[Isn’t it time to grant a hotfix? The damage is off the charts!]
[What if they chop off all my limbs with a hotfix?]
[They say it’s more likely to hit lightly than a regular patch]
[For now, begging is all I can do]
I just clasped my hands together and earnestly prayed.
Meanwhile, I kept queuing up to play as Camilla, racking up ridiculous kills. The goal was to get some crazy stats that would make Eonix have to do a hotfix.
But my efforts and hopes went unnoticed.
Today, tomorrow, and even the day after, there were no hotfixes, and Camilla remained strong.

“Wow, insane….”
The man muttered softly as he stared at the screen.
The screen had turned black and white, as if mocking him. Not in color, but black and white. In other words, it meant he was dead.
Soon after, not long after his death, the screen flickered slightly. It was a motion that usually appeared when you lost the game.
It was a moment to behold, as one of the team members, Hana, couldn’t help but chime in next to the Man, Min Hyung.
“Seriously, you really can’t do this, Choi Min Hyung.”
Min Hyung, the Man, raised his hand in protest but instead pleaded his case.
“No, this is really weird, okay?”
“Weird how?”
“Just look at what that person is doing. It’s kind of odd.”
“What are you talking about…?”
Team member Hyung-kyu watched Min Hyung’s replay, momentarily at a loss for words.
He thought there had to be something going on. After all, he was a pro; he just kept losing every time he passed by. But he figured it was just bad luck, like running into the wrong teammates or facing a team full of pros.
But this? Hyung-kyu was baffled and asked,
“Did you get totally wrecked? Why do you die every time you meet this person?”
“…I did get wrecked, but that’s not the point. Just look at this more closely.”
What was he supposed to look at closely? Hyung-kyu found Min Hyung annoying, but figured there must be something noteworthy if he was showing the replay, so he stared intently at the screen.
And then he discovered.
“What’s this? The damage is weird.”
“Right? It’s strange. The damage from that item shouldn’t be this high, but it keeps exploding at a hair’s breadth. I can’t have miscalculated the damage.”
“….”
That wasn’t the end of it. Hyung-kyu kept silent and rewatched the replay.
Not just the damage, but the ping-pong abilities, tanking capacity, and several other stats were exceeding average levels.
Yeah, just as Min Hyung said, it was odd.
The character on the screen, ‘Camilla,’ was performing in a way that felt out of place, prompting Hyung-kyu to mumble under his breath.
“Camilla was this good…?”
To which Min Hyung quickly agreed, “Seems like that person knows how to use her well. I think Camilla might be over-specified with buffs. We should test this out.”
“Yeah, let’s go do ranked matches together and see how it goes. If it works out, we can tell Coach.”
Thus began the unusual testing of Camilla by the two players, their faces reflecting the unusualness of the situation.
