Chapter 136: Massacre
On January 8th, Wednesday, it’s suitable to gather friends and earn money.
Not far from the main street in the center of Old Street City, Wan Yue and Jiang Yan stood silently in a scrap collection yard; the former leisurely smoked a cigarette while the latter remained highly vigilant.
It was past midnight, but Wan Yue and Jiang Yan had become the ones waiting for others, and only after thirty minutes past the agreed meeting time did around ten black figures finally appear.
Except for Xiang Zuxing, who was dressed in a leather jacket, the remaining eleven people, including the lower-tier baron Guo Hao, wore standardized gray-black combat uniforms along with deep blue tactical smocks.
The action attire of the elite knights from the Ba Mansion bore a remarkable resemblance to that of the Hyacinth, apart from subtle differences in color and equipment, or in other words, the Hyacinth clearly carried the lineage mark of the Ba Mansion.
“My lady!”
“Wan Jie!”
Under Guo Hao’s lead, whether familiar or not, the knights from the Hidden Alliance’s Ba Mansion bowed their heads in respect to Wan Yue. On the other hand, Xiang Zuxing kept casting a look of keen interest at Jiang Yan.
From this almost silent, beautiful, and aloof girl, Xiang Zuxing sensed a chill that rivaled or even surpassed that of the elite knights from the Ba Mansion. Moreover, beneath her apparent status as a high-tier knight, there was a demon-like aura not inferior to that of a baron.
Not caring about the probing of a viscount, Jiang Yan was more interested in the current attitude of the knights from the Ba Mansion. Observing Wan Yue’s calm expression, she realized that Wan Yue, as a former member of the Ba Mansion, still held considerable influence over these people.
“Ah, twice already, making women wait for you men. Do you have any shame?”
Wan Yue flicked away her cigarette butt and rolled her eyes at Xiang Zuxing, while several familiar faces, including Guo Hao, displayed awkward expressions.
“The Luo family is a bit slow with things, some unpleasant words were exchanged… They mean that we have to move first here. What a bunch of cowards; with this kind of guts, they still plan to retake the territory in Old Street.”
Xiang Zuxing spat, his face looking somewhat grim: “Sister Wan, don’t worry. I will oversee the distribution of all the spoils personally; I won’t let you suffer any loss!”
Upon hearing this, Wan Yue simply nodded lightly before turning around to glance in the direction of the Hongtian Entertainment Center.
According to the plan arranged a few hours earlier, Wan Yue and Jiang Yan, along with two Ba Mansion knights, were responsible for attacking the lair of Zhu Laojiu at the Hongtian Entertainment Center.
This decision was also based on Xiang Zuxing’s latest intelligence. After all, in his eyes, there were only two people in the Hyacinth, so they could only be assigned relatively easier targets.
As nighttime approached, most of the Black Dragon Society’s knights and attendants would disperse to several secret warehouses for the night, while the Hongtian Entertainment Center, under the command of either Zhu Laojiu or Pang Yun, being open all night, did not require too many guards.
Moreover, since Zhu Laojiu was not currently in Old Street, given Wan Yue’s half-step baron level, it would be quite easy for her to eliminate Pang Yun.
While this arrangement seemed considerate, Wan Yue scoffed at it. Because besides having an underground blood feeding ground, the Hongtian Entertainment Center actually had little profit. Rather, the other three secret warehouses were the high-value targets, although the Luo family’s intelligence was rough and posed a greater risk.
However, as the final spoils distribution had already been agreed upon, Wan Yue chose not to reveal this point. As for whether some people would tamper with the final spoils list, she deemed it wiser to remain blissfully ignorant. What she cared about more was the business stakes in Southeast Asia that the Luo family and Xiang Zuxing would leave for her.
At exactly 1:30 AM, it officially began!
Xiang Zuxing didn’t waste many words, stretching his body before issuing the order for action, and all present, including Jiang Yan, looked towards the tactical watch on Xiang Zuxing’s wrist.
……
The Black Dragon Society, or more accurately, Zhu Bixian, has two signboards and two sets of personnel in Old Street.
On the surface, they are the largest divided gang in Old Street, managing the most local industries, occupying the best resources, creating the most jobs, and nurturing the most idlers looking to gain without effort, bringing hard-earned prosperity and dirtiness to Old Street.
They infiltrate local military, political, and police institutions, and maintain deep ties with local ruffians, weaving into a community of interests. Their power can even overlook the nominal jurisdiction of the Myanmar government over the area.
In the shadows, Zhu Bixian is the leader of the largest black blood faction in Old Street, calculating and ruthless, forcing many rogue bloods to bow and serve for survival, living as per Zhu Bixian’s defined lifestyle, paying tributes on time.
The Hongtian Entertainment Center is a joint product of both the public and the covert. Operated 24 hours, it attracts opportunists from the locality, surrounding areas, and even neighboring countries, sustaining the interests of both worlds.
Drugs, weapons, human trafficking, flesh trade, gambling frauds—any illegal business recognized by the laws of different countries has a place in the Hongtian Entertainment Center.
At 1:30 AM, the gates of the Hongtian Entertainment Center remained brightly lit, the neon lights, which prioritized quantity over aesthetics, almost cloaked the entire building’s exterior. Luxurious cars, farming tricycles, and motorcycles congested both sides of the entrance, creating a mix of tackiness and grandeur.
You come in through the front door, play however you like; the scared ones are already scared away, and those who remain are basically damned. Don’t have any psychological burden; there isn’t a decent person holed up inside… You two, just follow Jiang Yan; do what she says.
If attacked by the blood bugs of the Ganges bloods, either remove the boiling blood or break through the boiling blood threshold and endure…
Standing in the shadow of a corner, Wan Yue took a glance at a magnificent door across the street, lit her cigarette, took a deep breath, and walked away along the wall.
Allocated to Wan Yue’s group were a high-tier knight and a medium-tier knight. Though the smallest in number, their overall strength wasn’t lacking, especially with Wan Yue, who was rumored to be on par with a viscount.
“Yes, Wan Jie.”
The Ba Mansion knights quickly nodded, but when they looked up again, the elder sister who was renowned for her elegance and beauty in the Ba Mansion had already vanished.
“Brothers, we haven’t coordinated before; my boiling blood might affect you, so we need to keep a distance.”
Retracting her gaze from a certain direction, Jiang Yan smiled slightly at the two Ba Mansion knights beside her.
The words from the beautiful, cool girl caused the two Ba Mansion knights to glance at each other in surprise. In their perceptions, even if they had injected external hormone suppressors, they could still sense that Jiang Yan was only a high-tier knight and did not possess a genuine realm suppression.
“Hehe, no worries, we are all knights; small influences within a great realm can be ignored.”
The high-tier knight of the Ba Mansion raised an eyebrow, feeling somewhat displeased, while the medium-tier knight from the other side smiled somewhat insincerely.
Jiang Yan said no more, checked her weapons one last time, took a deep breath, and walked directly toward the brightly lit entrance of the Hongtian Entertainment Center, followed closely by the two Ba Mansion knights, both of whom pulled back the bolts of their guns.
……
The Hongtian Entertainment Center stands seven stories tall and is massive, ranking among the largest buildings in Old Street.
The first and third floors have a structure similar to the Jinhe Club, forming a circular shape. The first floor mainly consists of a casino, while the second floor has independent private rooms, from which one can overlook the entire hall of the first floor.
At past 2 AM at the Hongtian Casino, the number of customers had dwindled significantly, but over thirty individuals still wandered or sat around various gambling tables, with the dealers at each table being young women dressed sexily.
Suddenly, a series of erratic bullets fired from the door, shattering the glass exterior walls and knocking down various ornamental sculptures, sending fragments flying, yet no one was injured.
Screams, collisions, and footsteps blended together chaotically; most of the men and women hugged their heads and scrambled for cover from the whizzing bullets, while a few wore expressions of disbelief and fury as they rushed toward advantageous positions.
“I’ll count to ten; if you value your life, get out.”
The medium-tier knight of the Ba Mansion stepped half forward, raising his P90 submachine gun directly towards several grim-faced people in the corner of the hall.
About ten ordinary men and women exchanged glances, then huddled together, anxiously leaving Jiang Yan’s side in haste. In just a few seconds, only about a dozen people remained in the gambling hall on the first floor of the Hongtian Entertainment Center. There was a noticeable difference in numbers, clearly indicating that several had already hidden amidst the chaos.
“People from the Hidden Alliance? What are you doing in Old Street, looking for trouble for nothing!?”
A rogue blood servant slowly stood up from behind a gambling table, face aflame with anger: “You’re crazy, daring to cause chaos in Zhu Laoda’s territory; if you want to die, don’t drag everyone down with you!”
Though the black bloods and rogue bloods present mostly were just servants or blood thralls, the audacity of these three knights from the Hidden Alliance to swagger in Zhu Bixian’s lair was truly shocking, inciting a mix of amazement, anger, and amusement.
The response to him was the rapid fire of the P90 submachine gun.
In less than ten meters, the rogue blood servant had no time or space to react, receiving dozens of bullets directly, his body bursting with jets of black blood mist, convulsing, eyes wide in disbelief, before collapsing to the ground.
Jiang Yan slightly turned her head to glance at the high-tier knight of the Ba Mansion not far from her. She didn’t evaluate whether the other’s execution was right or wrong but instead took a deep breath, activating her boiling blood, cranking it up to the maximum intensity.
An information storm that far exceeded that of a half-step baron, or in other words, blurred the boundary with a true baron began to sweep the spacious and disheveled first-floor hall. Every blood there was taken completely off guard, reeling as if struck on the head by a massive hammer, struggling to breathe.
The two Ba Mansion knights, caught in this suddenly unleashed ferocious killing intent, were also slightly caught off guard, their expressions changing drastically as they involuntarily stepped back several times.
On the third floor, in a lavish and somewhat exaggerated large bathing area, steam rose, water rippled, and bodies lay sprawling, amidst songbirds and swallows.
Pang Yun, waist wrapped in a white towel covering the horrifying blood bug sore, was half-leaning on the body of a half-naked sensual woman, while another much younger girl massaged his thighs.
Suddenly, a jolting aura of violent information surged, and the plump man’s pupils constricted; like an elastic balloon, he sprang to his feet, glaring with his cold little eyes fixed on the door.
Most in the room were ordinary people, utterly bemused, especially the half-naked sensual woman who attempted to pull Pang Yun back.
A baron? Perhaps even stronger than myself… Pang Yun pondered over the continuous surge of murderous intent, his fat face twitching repeatedly.
The sky seemed to recall Zhu Bixian’s warning as he departed, and a flash of ruthlessness crossed Pang Yun’s face. After hesitating for a few seconds, he abruptly pushed away the woman beside him and ran toward the window.
This action sent a clear signal; combined with the rumbling and explosions from below, anyone could understand what was happening at the Hongtian Entertainment Center at that moment. Several women waiting for Pang Yun to bathe were terrified, their faces drained of color, screaming and panicking.
As he reached the window, just as he was about to rampage, Pang Yun sensed a hint of intimidating aura from the darkness outside.
The chaotic, indistinct murderous intent loomed ominously, pressing down so forcefully that Pang Yun momentarily felt his mind short-circuit, his body instantly freezing.
“Damn, where did these two barons come from? Did they time it perfectly with my brother’s departure yesterday?”
Pang Yun’s expression grew even uglier, after a final bite of his teeth, he grabbed the towel around his waist and dashed out of the bathing area.
The fiery rate of three P90 suppressive submachine guns, coupled with occasional hand grenades being tossed, turned the first-floor hall into a blood-soaked battlefield filled with gunpowder smoke.
Shattered limbs, mangled flesh, charred blood mist, and repulsive blood rearranged the scene into this bright little world.
Be they the visible underlings of the black street gang or the covert black bloods, all became the lambs to the slaughter in this small battleground. Their resistance, under the pressure of a half-step baron and two elite knights, stirred little response before they were slaughtered and scattered.
And the only two black blood knights had already recognized they were no match for Jiang Yan and the others the moment gunfire broke out, fleeing down the inner corridor.
As the last bullet casing hit the floor, the three P90s had exhausted all their ammunition. Jiang Yan and the two Ba Mansion knights pulled out the handguns from their thigh holsters, slowly walking toward the central gambling table that was already riddled with holes.
The entire exchange lasted less than three minutes; the dozen or so remaining Black Dragon Society gang members who had resisted were mostly shot dead, with only a few left on the ground, convulsing and moaning, lingering between life and death, including several ordinary underlings who had been clueless from the start.
However, just as Kuan Yue previously mentioned, those willing to continue resisting in this place despite not fearing death were essentially the scum of this world, with no distinction between ordinary people and bloods.
“Don’t, don’t kill me, I didn’t resist… I’m just a blood thrall.”
After the explosion of a hand grenade had nearly toppled a collapsing gambling table, a trembling young female dealer stood up. Clad in a black high-thigh rabbit swimsuit and fishnet stockings, she wrapped around a trembling, youthful, enchanting body.
The female dealer slightly raised her hands, a pale face marred by tear streaks, exuding a chaotic boiling aura that was about to go out of control, her reddened eyes filled with terror and despair.
“A medium-tier blood thrall, posing no threat, or rather, from the very beginning, the female dealer had completely submitted to Jiang Yan’s terrifying aura.”
“You, right…?”
Jiang Yan slightly twitched her nose, sensing a familiar, nauseating sensation of “impurity” from her, contrasting greatly with the image of the helpless girl she had just seen.
But Jiang Yan still lowered the gun slightly, turning her body to another direction.
The intensity of Jiang Yan’s boiling blood had been dialed down several notches, enough to maintain basic intimidation and vigilance, yet even so, the aura of a half-step baron still left the two Ba Mansion knights feeling somewhat surreal.
The female dealer trembled, hands clutching her chest, passed weakly by Jiang Yan.
Without any movements from Jiang Yan, the female dealer finally breathed a sigh of relief before quickening her pace toward the exit.
Jiang Yan lightly sighed, her gaze sharpening as she turned, raising her gun at the dainty back adorned with cute rabbit ears and a fluffy white tail.
Pulling the trigger, the suppressed sound of the shot was nearly negligible, but the female dealer jerked dramatically, falling forward.
The sexy, beautiful female blood thrall had half her skull blown away, spewing a fuming black blood mist mixed with red and white semi-solid matter, spreading across the smooth floor, looking quite bewitching.
The pupils of the high-tier knight from the Ba Mansion constricted; he exchanged glances with his comrade, then slowly walked to the collapsed, still twitching body of the female dealer.
After observing for a few seconds, the high-tier knight slowly nodded towards Jiang Yan with a smile, “Sister Yan, this black blood thrall has consumed quite a bit of blood food; she deserves to die.”
Jiang Yan nodded, saying nothing, and turned her head back toward the entrance.
The scene once again fell into a dead silence, with only the three fully armed figures still standing.
Outside the bullet-ridden entrance, under the neon lights, the once-busy street was now completely empty. It was as if all of Old Street had fallen asleep or had closed its mouth and covered its ears, entering an ostrich-like state of isolation.
This is Old Street—years ago, gang clashes, power struggles, and murder and robbery were common knowledge. Even when a certain behind-the-scenes boss temporarily unified everything years ago, bringing a brief period of calm, seeing such a situation replay itself is not an unacceptable oddity.
Inside, the two Ba Mansion knights had already dealt with the remaining few who were dying in despair and looked toward the figure of the black-haired girl with complex expressions.
Wan Jie’s confidante, before entering a boiling blood state, seemed merely a high-tier knight, but after boiling blood, she turned into a monster, her strength probably surpassing that of Hao Ge!
Even as allies, the two were intimidated by Jiang Yan’s display just minutes before.
Gazing at the scattered limbs and severed arms in the fragmented casino hall, the two Ba Mansion knights were filled with admiration.
Standing amidst the bloody wreckage of the casino, the three harbored their own thoughts.
Meanwhile, in the other three hidden warehouse locations of the Black Dragon Society in Old Street, a one-sided slaughter was also unfolding. One of the locations, ostensibly a local security force’s military camp, had been engulfed in battle.
Xiang Zuxing and Guo Hao each led four Ba Mansion knights, while the Luo family sent a baron and six knights. They divided into three groups, successively storming the strongholds of the Black Dragon Society.
Without the intimidation offered by the lower-tier viscount Zhu Bixian or the oversight from the lower-tier baron Pang Yun, relying solely on fewer than ten black blood knights and a dozen or so defenders ranging from blood thralls to servants was no match for the fully prepared coalition.
In this savage and bloody night, a mid-tier viscount like Xiang Zuxing, under the enhancement of “Night Body,” after boiling blood, was practically a god descending, directly causing any black blood attempting to intercept to lose the will to resist, awaiting slaughter or fleeing in panic.
Even the commander of a military camp in Old Street, within a minute or so after the surprise attack, immediately declared neutrality, retreating deeper into the camp like a turtle, and then… had all of Zhu Bixian’s remaining men absolutely trapped.
As for the ordinary thugs scattered in the three strongholds, they were crushed by the knights of the Hidden Alliance and the Luo family from the onset, collapsing and fleeing without a second thought.
