Chapter 142

Chapter 142 – The Lord of Endless Evolution (2)

“Currently approaching within close range. The enemy has also discovered us.”

“Estimated rank SS… perhaps even higher. We need to deal with them in one go.”

A group of magical girls rapidly crossed the sky, discussing their mission with heightened tension.

All of them were already famous and powerful. Recently, after undergoing Razak’s modifications, their power had increased dramatically.

They were enhanced magical girls created by killing fellow magical girls to absorb their magic.

Though their power remained classified, they were now composed of magical girls whose average rank was SS, earning them the reputation of being disasters to humanity. They were now moving stealthily to deal with a problem arising within the country.

“What’s the problem? It’s not like we’re going alone; we’re all going together.”

“We? Don’t pretend to be friendly, rookie.”

“Everyone, quiet down. Distance is 1km. We’ll arrive shortly.”

While it was difficult to determine superiority precisely, their leader Seirin, being the eldest and highest-ranked among them, continued the communication to ramp up the tension.

The enemy, under surveillance from a military utilizing satellites and reconnaissance drones, was focused solely on their objective, indifferent to anything happening around them.

‘We have to handle this.’

As urgent transmissions alerted her that the enemy was bulldozing the facility, ignoring warnings and resistance, she bit her lip.

They were heinous terrorists. This terrorist indiscriminately killed people, destroyed property, and set fire to it.

And finally, they caught sight of the enemy they had to confront.

“Stop immediately.”

“…”

The hastily dispatched leader of the high-ranked magical girls, Seirin, dove in quickly to surround the enemy but was momentarily startled.

A girl donned in dazzling silver armor, with sky-blue hair, held a disheveled guard by the hair, looking at Seirin with luminous eyes.

“You are traitors who wrap yourselves in evil.”

“Shut up, you crazy bitch! You’re the one causing a ruckus and killing people in someone else’s country!”

As Shia grinned, having broken the guard’s neck, a magical girl shouted angrily before Seirin could respond.

“I heard an interesting story while interrogating the scum.”

Regardless of the situation, Shia only spoke her mind. She had no intention of entertaining any negotiations or excuses. The eerie insanity emanating from her made the magical girls flinch.

“I hear there’s an experiment that strengthens magical girls by killing other magical girls. And those strengthened magical girls actively cooperate with that corruption.”

“Damn it…”

As the details flowed from Shia’s mouth, someone cursed and sighed. At the same time, they all predicted the outcome of this encounter. It had to end with one side being defeated in mutual conflict.

[Only evil shall be judged.]

“Charge!”

In the end, as Shia unleashed her power, Seirin gritted her teeth and shouted.

Their strength was undeniably tremendous. With innate talent and aggressive investment, they were incomparable to the magical girls of most nations.

‘Can we win?’

However, right before the clash, Seirin gritted her teeth while witnessing Shia radiate brilliant holy power.

She could feel a fundamental difference. The light emanating from Shia was holy and sacred. Most importantly, it was holy power, which stood against the very nature of magic.

It wouldn’t matter for ordinary magic, but holy power fundamentally exhibited superiority over magic based in evil.

“Ah, no way!”

“Stop her!”

With a tremendous sound and the ensuing shockwave, the tranquil countryside was engulfed by a giant disaster.

This disaster was not one of natural calamity like storms or earthquakes. It was a disaster that laid waste to the surface and tore apart the atmosphere, created by people.

More specifically, the work of some of the strongest magical girls.

[Do you see? My power punishes only evil. Your bodies responding to it signify the wickedness within you.]

“Shut it! Attacking our country and harming people without even a shred of manners is on you!”

Seirin swooped down, wielding her halberd, aiming it at Shia, who was surrounded by a storm of holy power, but her strike was blocked by Shia’s wings imbued with holy power.

[Excuses of having been forced do not suffice. The fault lies with you who stand in allegiance with your leader.]

And with that, she was sent flying by sheer force.

Seirin could not comprehend the situation.

Even with the most powerful forces of the continent collaborating in a joint assault, the opponent was overwhelmingly strong. No one present had experienced such a massive gap, but they all understood it.

They just couldn’t bring themselves to say the name.

“Aaaahhh!”

Finally, struck by Shia’s overwhelming strength, Seirin fell to the ground, alongside her comrades, crashing into a pit.

[Nothing is exempt. No matter how impressive you are, you cannot escape the mighty law. That is justice. Do not cowardly ‘evade and flee’ from the ‘Divine Duty’ that everyone bears. It is not that ordinary people are foolish for adhering to their responsibilities.]

Shia grasped the neck of a charging magical girl. She gasped for breath, yet held up her gun to shoot Shia in the face, but the bullets merely ricocheted off, leaving not even a scratch.

The disparity was inherent. The essence of evolution gathered by the monster Razak was the very force that holy power intensely abhorred.

Had they not been modified, they wouldn’t have fallen so pathetically.

“Gak… guhh…”

The magical girl, choking, felt her throat burning from the holy power. Before she could die from strangulation, her burning throat was about to be severed first.

Seirin, staggering back to her feet, was taken aback at the sight. From her belongings, she pulled out a pouch of poison gas given by Razak. But using it now would also ensnare the magical girl caught by Shia.

Seirin recognized who she was. A foolish child merely 15 years old. Honestly, she was still oblivious to so much.

“What are you hesitating for!”

“Ah, no!”

At that moment, another magical girl, her broken arm hanging limply, snatched the pouch from Seirin. With all her might, she threw it.

The pouch exploded near Shia, who had been uncaring about the situation. At the same time, high-density poison gas spread out, engulfing both Shia and the magical girl.

“Gg… aaah!”

And the effect was immediate. The magical girl, exposed to lethal gas in a weakened state, could not withstand it, her veins boiling as she foamed at the mouth.

As blood began to pour out from every orifice, Shia lost her grip.

“Ah…”

With a horrible sound, the body of the falling magical girl shattered upon impact with the ground. Seirin and the others nearby were splattered with the gory mess.

“That’s not the important issue right now! That bitch!”

As the others fell into shock, the magical girl who had thrown the pouch gritted her teeth, glaring at Shia.

But this was definitely potent poison gas. Logically, since the opponent was also a magical girl, she should be affected as well.

“Untouched?”

“Impossible!”

Yet Shia remained hovering in the air. She casually brushed the poison gas away from her.

“AAAHHH!”

“Get away… AAHHH!”

[I am immune to poison.]

Simultaneously, Shia accelerated toward the ground at tremendous speed, sending the remaining magical girls, scarcely managing to hold on, spiraling away with the shockwave upon her landing.

“Cough.”

[Is all of this what you sought as justice?]

With her eyes shining, Shia grabbed Seirin’s neck. Seirin instinctively tried to hold her gauntlet and push her away, but the armor was so impervious not even a scratch was left from her struggles.

“Huh… d-don’t get too cocky.”

[Is it arrogance?]

“You too are trying to solve everything through strength. We won’t deny that what we did was horrendous. We did it because we thought it was right. So, we joined in. But just as we fell to this fate, one day you’ll face the same.”

Feeling the horrific pain beginning to sear her throat, Seirin still forced a grin.

“Really? Is there anyone in this land stronger than I?”

Intrigued, Shia loosened her grip slightly. She noticed that Seirin’s tone suggested that there was a stronger being capable of judging her.

“Surely you know of Takilas, right?”

And at last, Seirin uttered that name.

The name that Shia had, for some inexplicable reason, never heard during her entire time with the Fairy Company, her initial arrival on Earth, or through all her battles until now.

“…What?”

Naturally, Shia was shocked. That name was unforgettable – the avatar of an angel and the saint of the church.
