Chapter 136

“Join us immediately and let us know the situation.”

“We have a clash between martial artists and the Martial Force of the Pig. We found one survivor about to die, and honestly, saving them is a stretch. But they asked for help for their group.”

Time is of the essence.

“Let’s hurry to save them. If we go now, we might be able to save them.”

“Understood.”

“Okay.”

Serin and Hayoung nodded seriously. The demon Miho Yo seemed indifferent, but hey, if I say go, we’ve gotta go.

We immediately dashed off, following the scent.

From over there, the scent of humans and Pig Clan wafted towards us. The fact that survivors exist suggests that the battle is still ongoing.

Once we rescue the martial artists, we can wipe out the Pig Clan and figure out the situation.

“Squeeeak!”

“Humans!”

As we dashed along, we finally encountered the Pig Clan. They were clad in fur clothing and wielding Moonblades. These guys are the minions of the great demon Jeopalgi.

Pig Clan members are demons tough enough that a couple of second-rate martial artists need to team up just to take one down. They might be dumb enough not to use martial arts skills, but they display outstanding close-combat prowess due to their massive size and weight.

However, Jeopalgi’s underlings, the Pig Clan members, are different. They’re smarter and can use martial art skills with their Moonblades. They’re not easy to beat, but we’ve trained specifically to deal with them.

“Squeeeek!”

The Pig Clan that spotted us charged in with their Moonblades raised. Using their innate strength, they slash with their Moonblades, and just that alone would wipe out martial artists who wield shorter weapons.

But not us.

They have an absolute weakness.

“Spirit Fireball!”

I immediately stretched out my left hand and launched a Spirit Fireball. The purple flames struck the face of the unsuspecting Pig Clan member.

—Fwoosh!

“Squeeek?!”

“Spirit Fireball! Spirit Fireball!”

There were precisely three Pig Clan members, so I hit them with three Spirit Fireballs. The flying fireballs burned their faces and chests. They thrashed about, rolling on the floor trying to put the flames out.

This is the weakness of the Pig Clan minions.

While they have a high win rate in close combat because they wield Moonblades, they crumble helplessly against long-range attacks!

“They can’t handle long-range attacks! Let’s go!”

—Whap!

Like a ray of light, Serin swooped in and took down the thrashing Pig Clan member. Even if they are Pig Clan, it’s tough to execute martial skills while on fire.

—Slash!

Blood gushed from the Pig Clan member’s neck. They fell without even a few seconds passing. It was our perfect victory.

“Let’s keep going!”

“Understood! Geunhyeop! It paid off to practice Spirit Fireball!”

“Right? It’s as useful as my talismans!”

“Hehe, thanks.”

Maybe my Spirit Fireball is even more useful than Hayoung’s talismans. It’s predictable for sorcerers to use magic, but nobody expects a swordsman like me to spit fire from my left hand.

As we sprinted ahead, another Pig Clan squad appeared.

“Squeek?! Were there more behind?!”

“They seem to be different ones!”

“What happened to the squad over there?!”

The Pig Clan muttered in confusion as they raised their Moonblades.

“This time, it’s my turn!”

“Sorcerer?! Be careful of her magic!”

“Squeeeek!”

Hayoung stepped forward and unleashed her magic. Flames erupted from the Earth, and as her talismans flew through the air, some of the Pig Clan scattered and fled.

“Take down the sorcerer first!”

One who appeared to be more experienced rushed toward us, but I stepped in front.

“Squeek! Do you think a flimsy sword can compete with my Moonblade?”

In that instant, as the Pig Clan foolishly shouted, I pretended to swing my sword. In response, the Pig Clan member tried to position themselves to deflect my blade.

Of course, what I was about to do was not swing my sword.

—Shwaah!

I spread my left hand wide and curled my fingers to form a hook. It looked like the claw of a raptor, filled with spiritual energy.

“Ghost Claw!”

“Squeek?!”

I slashed through the air and fired five strands of spiritual energy!

The Pig Clan member grabbed the Moonblade with both hands, using it like a shield to block my Ghost Claw, but—

—Shwaaaash!

My Ghost Claw was stronger. The shaft of the Moonblade shattered into pieces, falling apart.

“No way!”

Taking advantage of that moment.

“Die!”

Without using any special moves, I simply extended my sword and pierced through the Pig Clan member’s throat.

“Gurgle…! How could a human…!”

“You got too cocky. You dumbass.”

I took down that one and surveyed the situation. The others had already been taken down by my friends. The burnt and sliced up Pig Clan bodies were strewn all over.

“Yaaaaah!”

“Squeeeeek!”

I also saw Miho Yo viciously clawing at a Pig Clan member’s face, taking them down with her fox demon agility after puncturing their chest with her claws.

That was one Pig Clan squad wiped out.

“Well done, everyone. It’s a perfect extermination. Everyone executed their roles well.”

“Serin, you did great too! Let’s take a quick breather and then move again!”

“Okay.”

I collected my energy while keeping watch around us.

The scent of humans was close. We should be able to meet them soon.

“Miho Yo. Humans will show up soon. Use more than just your claws there. Clean the blood from your mouth too.”

“Okay… got it.”

But this girl is really chomping down on the pig’s innards, huh.

“Is that delicious?”

“Yeah! It’s tasty!”

She really loves it.

Anyway.

“But the Martial Force of the Pig isn’t that impressive, is it? With the four of us, we’re slicing through them like bamboo, aren’t we?”

“There’s some truth to that, but Hayoung, just imagine meeting these guys on a battlefield.”

“A battlefield?”

What if they swarmed in and swung their Moonblades all at once? We wouldn’t be able to use the tricks we just used to eliminate them.

These guys are a powerful army… always keep that in mind. If they form ranks, defeating them is nearly impossible.

“Let’s move out.”

I had recovered my breath.

Let’s hurry and rescue the martial artists.
