– Lecture Title: Fundamentals and Understanding of Mana Usage
– Lecture Category: Magic Department, General Lecture

Filling the schedule with lectures for the entire Monday is a natural choice for academy students, unless you’re a university student who spends their weekends drinking!

‘If you want to enjoy club activities too, it’s better to cram lectures into a few days of the week!’

Going all-in on Mondays is the wisest choice.

“Wow. Is De really taking lectures full-time until the fourth period on Monday? What a tough schedule.”
“Aren’t you doing the same, Arcadia?”
“I’m 17 and Oknodie is only 11. I can handle this much!”

At that time, Arcadia, who had taken a different lecture, ran into the Class 4 lecture, surprisingly titled Proficiency in Ranged Weapons, in the Knight Department.

Arcadia is notorious for her absurd ability acquisition, as random as her fashion choices.

Last time, she had sword fighting and shooting skills, but where did all her combat skills go? What’s with that shopping skill? Why is her dancing skill so high?
LOL, a newbie fighter Arcadia getting hit by socialite Arcadia.
Arcadia keeps changing her main and support skills every time. With shopping and dancing so high, she might be useful in black market and socialite events, haha.
What’s she doing if you took her on a boat?
Dancing? Maybe?
Cheerleader Arcadia, haha.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that it’s a regular content for veteran players to tease the new players when Arcadia gets flustered by her changed abilities!

“Arcadia, what can you handle?”
“Uh-huh. Don’t be surprised. I can actually handle a ‘gun’!”
“Oh.”

Arcadia the fighter confirmed!
…But there’s something unsettling about this.
This person had exceptionally high friendliness this round, after all.
She’s also the mental support for the girls in Group A.
I thought she was Commander Arcadia, but having her as Fighter Arcadia too seems like too many skills, right?

‘More is not always better.’

NPC skill totals are generally fixed in quantity.
Some start with a skill experience total of 3000, while others start at 10000.
It’s just the limit of those totals that differs, most won’t surpass their predetermined skill experience total.

‘Having a jack-of-all-trades Arcadia is a pain!’

Veteran players decided to call characters that couldn’t specialize as ‘fail characters’!

The professor of the Proficiency in Ranged Weapons lecture was a centaur, half-man and half-horse, who looked like he could shoot arrows well just by his appearance.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t the two-legged Umamusume but a four-legged centaur.
Centaur heroes have made a name for themselves in Continental History, and this professor was also a robust woman.

Clop clop
As the professor, who was as alive as any hero, entered the classroom, a student muttered.
“How does that big body fit into a bathroom?”
“!!”

Students fell into deep thought with serious faces.
Oknodie was no exception, lost in fantastic thoughts.
‘I’ve never thought about it in the game, but I’m really curious. How does she go to the bathroom?’
Does she have a special bathroom?

“Greetings, young talents of the continent. I am Professor Evening Shooter, and I will be teaching you Ranged Weapon Proficiency for the next few months.”
“The real bathroom is…”
“…probably the stable…”
“…surely a special facility…”

The students were so shocked by the prior topic that it took them a while to gather their wits.
Without a change in expression, Professor Evening Shooter readied her bow and strung an arrow without an actual arrow.

Evening Shooter
Rapid Fire
Magic Arrow

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Tap tap tap!

“Ow!”
“Ugh!”
“Aow!”

The students wiped tears at the magical arrows flying at lightning speed, hitting their foreheads.
As I narrowly avoided being hit, Professor Evening Shooter glanced at me as if to say, ‘Did you avoid this?’
I was worried she might unleash another dozen concentrated shots, but thankfully, she sheathed her bow since other students had good impacts.

“By mastering ranged weaponry like this, we can keep un-focused students in check and send enemies who let their guard down into chaos.”

The professor calmed down and began the lecture.
“In this lecture, you will learn how to utilize ranged weapons in various situations.”
“Whether it’s a bow, gun, crossbow, sling, or blowgun, you will acquire the skills and wisdom needed to achieve your targets.”
“Those who successfully complete their goals will pass the test. You may leave immediately or stay for personal training until the lecture concludes.”

An expansive outdoor training ground.
To prevent any casualties during training, several instructors were assigned to aid Professor Evening Shooter.
Unfortunately, Arcadia wasn’t there among the archers I ran to.

“Gahaha! Ranged weapons are truly guns. Can I shoot? Can I shoot everything?”
Nonetheless, there wasn’t a crazed pirate Jigoku with a gun!
Thank goodness I picked up the bow!
Just then, another student in a different line waved at me.

“What’s an assassin doing with a bow? Let’s throw some knives together!”
“…No thanks. I’ll stick with the bow.”
The masked assassin Jiang looked quite disappointed.
Hmph. Who are you treating as an assassin?

“Alright, archers, take your bows and stand in front of the line. There will be a demonstration by an experienced instructor for the beginners.”
A brief foundation education began about the correct stance, breathing methods, and aiming.

“Those who are not proficient in the basic stance will continue with basic training, while the skilled ones will don magic goggles and aim to hit the targets displayed in front of them.”

Of course, my archery experience honed through focused training at butler Jonnas’s training ground was far beyond basic.
While most students picked lighter bows shaped from easy materials within the limits of their size and arm strength, I picked a heavy and high-tension bow dubbed the Great Knight’s Killing Zone, a longbow with a draw weight of over 45 kg!

“Look at that kid.”
“That bow weighs as much as she does!”
“Is she actually lighter than the bow? Hehe.”

The Empire Nobles didn’t bother hiding their laughter.
Having experience handling bows from their annual hunting competitions, they surely saw my actions as ridiculous.
Even the instructor was taken aback by my choice.
“Oknodie Year 1. There’s no need to pick such a heavy bow. This target isn’t a heavily armed knight in full armor.”
“This feels just right for me.”

Pulling back the bowstring
My arm muscles tightened as I pulled it back.
This is it.
The bow must have high tension for the best experience!
If I toy around with some small shortbow, all I’d hear is the sound of shooting arrows, but where would I use that?

Swish-
Ping-

Unlike the arrows, which shook like toys upon hitting the target, the arrow I shot had a distinctly different sound.
As the arrow I nocked snarled at the target, I released it.

Thwack!
Boom!

I didn’t just hit the target; I obliterated it.
The sight of the upper half of the missing figure collapsing was enough to glaze over the eyes of the Empire Noble students nearby.
“What did you say earlier? I didn’t hear you, I was focused.”
“Oh, nothing. You shoot well.”
“Are you a monster…? Are you really half-orc?”

Seeing their slack-jawed faces felt refreshing.
Hehe.
They better not mess with me while I’m holding a bow!

“Instructor, do you have a ballista?”
“The flower of the deck is cannons, so why is there no artillery? I want to show my bombardment skill!”
“Gahaha! I’m gonna shoot, shoot, shoot!”

While instructors in other lines were dealing with ridiculous students, the archery instructor dashed off to a location he had already spotted as soon as the shooting session had ended.
“Wow. What is this? It’s completely smashed.”
This wasn’t some fragile target that could break from a simple arrow, but still, the top half was completely torn apart.
If a real person got hit, it would easily pierce through armor and tear the upper half apart in an instant.

“Professor Evening Shooter, please take a look at this.”
“This is a Power Shot. I put you here to teach students, but it seems you were practicing your own skills?”
“It wasn’t me.”
“Then this was shot by a student?”
“It was the target shot by Oknodie from Year 1.”

Hearing that it was a Year 1 student, Professor Evening Shooter fell into contemplation.
This wasn’t the sort of power one could show off with a few eager attempts in a family hunting event.
“The 981 Class Upper Class shows much potential of heroes. The descendants of the archers, masters of the wind, and skilled gunners, along with the archer of great strength.”

Professor Evening Shooter smiled with satisfaction.
“Next lecture, I can raise the difficulty a bit. Let’s move up the lecture scheduled for three weeks later.”

The lecture difficulty shot up.
Poor unfortunate students who signed up for the same lessons as Oknodie would have to endure!
