Chapter 203

The date with Aunt Shia was over, but of course, my schedule for today was far from done.

[【77 Worlds】It’s a showdown, Toka Mama! #IzumiKainoh#TokaYukino#StarsFlow]

-─(≧▽≦)>Zumi Zumi!

-─(≧▽≦)>Zumi Zumi!

Today was the second and final day of my off-collab with Aunt Shia, and I had announced a game broadcast.

The thumbnail for today’s stream featured ‘Kainoh Izumi’ striking a bizarre pose while ‘Toka Yukino’ glared at her with crossed arms.

And today, the game I would play with Aunt Shia is 77 Worlds.

It’s a game that can be enjoyed by a minimum of two and a maximum of four players on the Play Box Switch, and simply put, it lets you play numerous board games from around the world.

Chess. Go. Othello. Connect Four. Poker. Darts. Yacht. Shogi. Janggi, etc.

With so many classic board games that everyone could recognize, it’s considered one of the most popular games for collaborations in the VTuber industry.

“Mina, are you really okay with competing against Aunt in this game?”

“Y-yes, no problem at all…!”

Aunt Shia was giggling as if her victory was already guaranteed even before the game started.

…Well, I couldn’t say I didn’t understand her thinking.

One of the features of 77 Worlds is that it has many classic board games.

In other words, it means there are plenty of ‘old-school’ games.

And there’s a whopping 15 years age difference between Aunt and me.

Just by thinking about it simply, it’s natural that she has more experience with board games than I do.

Even when I scrolled through the community after posting the announcement yesterday, there were quite a few comments like “Is Izumi even aware of the rules?”

…But there’s a hidden secret.

Aunt Shia, as well as Izutomo and my fellow Stars Flow members, and even my family don’t know about it.

I have… memories of my previous life.

I died at the age of 25 in my past life, and now I’m 17.

With a total mental age of 42, I can craft a perfect winning strategy for the game.

No. Just comparing ages, my mental age is a whopping 10 years older than Aunt Shia…!

Yeah. This is a game I absolutely cannot lose.

Of course, it’s not like I’ve ever really enjoyed board games before… but that’s the same for Aunt as well.

No matter how much older she is than me, those kinds of board games were popular in a much earlier time period.

“Well, then I guess we’ll start slowly….”

“Yeah.”

After taking a deep breath, I switched the standby screen and unmuted the microphone.

“Co, KoNZumi… I’m the enchanting Kainoh Izumi…!”

And although it’s the second time, I started the broadcast by saying the greeting I had gotten quite accustomed to.

-What?

-Hi, Izumi!

-Did the greeting come at the speed of light…?

-That was super fast, hahahaha!

I’m now a pro with two years of broadcasting experience. There’s no way I’d be embarrassed by something like this!

If it seems like my greeting was faster than usual, that’s just your imagination.

I’m just as calm as always, delivering a perfectly normal greeting….

“Yay! Hi everyone! It’s your manly illustrator VTuber, Yuki Yukino!”

And then came Aunt Shia’s greeting.

Toka Aunt…

-But weren’t you supposed to be in self-reflection for the next two weeks starting today?

And of course, the chatroom was flooded with comments about yesterday’s incident.

“Well, um, I canceled the self-reflection….”

I timidly protested, fully aware that it was all my fault, but the chatroom only laughed at me more.

Why on earth did I post such a statement yesterday?

No matter how much I regretted my own foolishness, the time that has already passed cannot be returned.

So, instead of regretting, I should try to move forward even just a little more….

-Already been two weeks, huh? Time flies.

“I said, I canceled the self-reflection, you guys…!”

Well, if I could have lived rationally, I wouldn’t have posted such a statement yesterday in the first place.

While tangling with the chatroom and my pride in a battle of wits, Aunt Shia calmed me down by patting my head.

“Well, honestly, yesterday was Mama’s fault.”

-But honestly, don’t you want to try it just one more time?

“…If possible?”

“Eh?”

Maybe Aunt Shia was actually the enemy after all….

In any case, after that commotion, we brought up the UI of 77 Worlds, our content for today, on the broadcast screen.

“As we previously announced, we’ll be playing ‘77 Worlds’, so… um, what should we start with?”

“Hmmm. Mama, you can do whatever with the confidence you have, Izumi.”

“Eh….”

What’s with this incredible confidence of Aunt Shia’s?

Of course, thinking normally, it makes sense that she has an advantage in this game, but isn’t this a bit over the top?

No way….

I should start by bringing Aunt Shia down a peg from her confidence.

“…Because it’s up to Toka Mama to decide, right?”

I chose Othello.

A board game where the first player (black) and the second player (white) take turns placing their pieces and the first to make five in a row wins.

It’s easy and simple enough for beginners to learn quickly, but the first player (black) has a significant advantage, so additional rules are usually set for black.

For example, the ‘3×3 rule,’ which prohibits creating two sets of three in a row, or the ‘extension rule,’ which doesn’t allow more than six pieces to connect.

Well, I chose Othello for a simple reason.

I might not know much about other board games, but I’m confident in Othello.

I’ve played it quite a bit in my previous life, and I won most of the time.

“Othello, huh… Well, Mama will let you be first.”

Aunt Shia casually gave me the black pieces without hesitation.

Could she possibly think that I don’t even know the rules of Othello?

Not knowing the rules of Othello… At that level, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it on the news.

It’s a level where I have nothing to say even if someone questions whether she knows how to breathe at all.

“…W-well, shall we start then?”

“Sure!”

As I picked Othello from the list of games in 77 Worlds, the screen transitioned, revealing the board.

And just like that, the game began as I placed my black piece.

Why?

“Izumi, there’s something Mama hasn’t told you….”

Why?!

“Mama likes board games quite a bit… No, like, super loves them.”

-This can’t be called a contest at all!

-I feel pity for Mei-chan now.

“Ughhhh….”

“I was asking if it was okay to play this game because….”

-So she had already suggested surrender?

-So Mei-chan who accepted it without realizing is the bad one…

-In the first place, Mei-chan’s skill is like complete rubbish, hahaha!

-I really think Toka Mama is just too good at this.

Total defeat.

That’s my current record.

Othello: 2 losses. Othello: 1 loss. Chess: 1 loss.

Not a single win.

No, just like the chatroom said, I didn’t even get into a contest at all.

It was an overwhelmingly massive skill gap to the point I could feel a wall.

Even the Izutomo, who usually enjoy watching me struggle, would think it was pitiful.

This is strange…. How did it end up like this? My plan was not like this.

“…Then, shall we wrap it up here?”

Once more I was given a chance to concede.

So, I….

“…Ah, no.”

I didn’t extend my hand.

As a man, my pride wouldn’t allow me to end the game without winning a single match.

“L-let’s have one last game, Toka Mama….”

Saying that, I chose Yacht.

A board game where five dice are rolled three times to create a hand, and scores are compared.

Even with a large skill gap, there’s still a chance to win in this game.

Yacht requires luck above all, but psychological warfare is also important, of course.

-The final game is definitely Yacht.

-Showing off with Yacht…?

-Yacht, is that really okay?

“Whew….”

Taking a final deep breath, I looked at the screen.

The five dice that would determine my fate were shaking in the cup.

“I’ll start first….”

“Okay.”

With a clatter sound, the dice rolled out onto the board.

Their faces showed 1. 1. 1. 1. 6 in order.

“…Eh?”

-Seriously?

-This is really Mei-chan’s turn?!

Aunt Shia, the chatroom, and even I were all in shock.

Getting a hand that could lead directly to Yacht on the first try is unbelievable.

(Yacht: The term used when all five dice show the same number. Automatically earns 50 points.)

Even if I were to give up on the Yacht, I had a hand that could at least score 4 points in the Ones category.

(Ones: The total sum of the dice that show 1. Maximum 5 points.)

“…Hehe.”

A smile spread across my face.

Yeah. I can definitely win at least this last time.

No, the one who wins last is the overall winner.

With a total of 1 win and 199 losses, the chance to say, “Aunt, you really can’t play!” had finally arrived.

Just imagining the fun future ahead, I set aside the four dice showing ones and rolled the die showing six again.

And the outcome of that die was… a 1.

Yacht.

“…Eh?”

-Starting with a Yacht!!!

-Mei-chan, are you strong with Yacht?!

The chatroom was in a frenzy at the thought of starting with a Yacht.

Honestly, I can’t believe it myself, so how ridiculous must it seem to the Izutomo watching?

And Aunt Shia….

“Hehe….”

Seemed to be laughing as if she found it enjoyable for some reason.
