Chapter 106: Demon King – World Destruction Cannon
“You’re the one who’s delusional; your whole family is delusional.”
Elrose blushed and swayed as she looked at Alicia, “I am the great Demon King, the Demon King is me.”
“Yes, yes, yes.” Alicia nodded repeatedly, knowing it’s better not to provoke her at this time.
“What do you mean? That expression of yours clearly shows you’re just humoring me.” Elrose pouted angrily at Alicia, “It seems I have to show you my power; otherwise, you won’t believe me.”
With that, Elrose took a stance, combining her hands.
“Foolish humans, this move is the ultimate essence crafted from my understanding of magic to its peak, channeling all my strength.”
Elrose stepped forward and suddenly swung her hands.
“Take this, Demon King – World Destruction Cannon.”
“Ha!”
There was no mana, no spells, just two soft little hands gently tapping on Alicia’s body.
“Uh…” Alicia scratched the back of her head, unsure how to react.
“Drunk Angelic Onee-san is so cute,” Stella couldn’t help but exclaim.
“Yeah, totally adorable,” Luna looked at the silliness of Elrose and felt like she was going to burst from cuteness.
Elrose raised an eyebrow, looking at Alicia with some confusion, “Hmm?! How are you still standing?!”
“Let’s go again!” “Demon King – World Destruction Cannon.”
Another soft punch landed on Alicia, who remained dazedly standing in place.
“You’re really strong.” Elrose looked at Alicia with a tipsy expression.
“In these hundreds of years, only the Golden Dragon Hero has withstood my blow. You’ve taken two of my Demon King World Destruction Cannons and are still perfectly fine.”
“Tell me, who exactly are you?!” Elrose stared intensely at Alicia.
“I…” Alicia’s mouth twitched slightly, but soon a light bulb went off in her head.
“Uh, oh.” Alicia clutched her stomach and yelled, “This, this power is…”
“This is the power of the Demon King? It’s too strong.”
“Ah, I’m dead.” Alicia retreated and plopped down on a nearby chair, sticking out her tongue and pretending to be dead.
“Isn’t this acting a bit too exaggerated?” Lilith couldn’t help but comment.
But.
“Wa ha ha ha, did you see that, foolish humans? This is the power of this Demon King.” Elrose laughed joyfully.
But due to her forcefulness, as she laughed, she began to tip backward.
“Elrose, be careful.” This time Luna was prepared, catching her from behind before she completely fell over, “Elrose, you’re drunk; let me take you back to your room to rest.”
“I’m not drunk!” Elrose shouted loudly, “I, hic, said it; I’m the Demon King. How could I be drunk? I’m not drunk!”
Luna’s eyes rolled twice: “My Lord Demon King, you’ve used your ultimate move twice, you must be tired; let me take you back to your room for a rest.”
Elrose paused slightly: “You make a good point; I do seem a bit tired.”
“Then I’ll take you back to your room.”
“Mm… okay.”
Lifting Elrose, they prepared to head upstairs.
“Luna, wait!”
Elrose suddenly called out to Luna.
“What is it, My Lord Demon King? Do you have something else?” Luna asked patiently.
“Egg pancakes, they’re delicious. Bring me some upstairs.”
“Okay, My Lord Demon King.”
Luna helped Elrose leave the hall.
Alicia then opened her eyes, slowly getting up from the stool. Watching Elrose’s retreating figure, she couldn’t help but smile wryly, “What a cute child.”
“Mr. Alicia, sorry for the trouble,” Kendrick said, “This child is drunk, and her talk of being a Demon King is all nonsense; please don’t take it to heart.”
“Ha ha, of course not.” Alicia smiled slightly, “It’s normal for children to speak nonsense; when they’re drunk, they’re even more unrestrained, and naturally, nobody takes it seriously.”
“Besides, this is the human world, protected by the Saint Lanya Barrier. Not even a higher-level Demon Clan member could enter here without facing death.”
“You’re right.” Kendrick nodded repeatedly, secretly relieved.
Goodness, to claim to be a Demon King in front of My Lord Hero, Elrose, you really have guts.
“But I’m actually quite interested in this child.” Seeing Kendrick was easy to talk to, Alicia attempted to inquire, “She just said she was rescued from the forest by you and has amnesia. What is that about?”
“Oh, it’s like this; she’s quite an extraordinary child.” Upon hearing My Lord Hero’s question, Kendrick didn’t hesitate to answer, “About ten days ago, the Star of Ruin fell. We urgently evacuated Karashok with the aid of neighboring kingdom’s forces. Afterward, when the Star of Ruin was shot down by Shadie, we encountered this child in the Judyia Great Forest on our way back with our carriage.”
Kendrick continued slowly, “She was alone, unconscious by the river, and it was Stella who found her. We discussed it and brought her straight home.”
“A few days later, after she woke up at my house, she said she lost her memory and couldn’t remember things from before. My three children invited her to stay until today.”
“I see.” Alicia nodded gently, her mind racing.
Based on Kendrick’s description, the events should have unfolded like this: the Star of Ruin fell, Shadie appeared and shattered the meteor, but got severely injured and fell into the forest, fortunately being found and cared for by Kendrick’s family. Upon waking up, she lost certain memories, and with the invitation from the three sisters, she stayed here.
The timing fits, and the logic is clear; this should be the true nature of the events.
With this thought, Alicia sighed inwardly, a hint of self-reproach welled up.
If her assumptions are correct, then she probably owes Shadie even more.
The act of Shadie shattering the Star of Ruin wasn’t as simple as the newspapers depicted; her body was also severely harmed, and the supposed amnesia could very well have occurred at that time.
Shadie had fought her before attacking the Star of Ruin.
Even though her body wasn’t under her control at that time, with the power of a hero, she was at her peak and not so easily defeated.
The toll on Shadie must be imagined.
“I truly owe her a lot.” Alicia sighed inwardly.
But fortunately, she found her, and before uncovering the truth, she had ample time to repay her.
However, the extent of Shadie’s so-called amnesia remains unknown: to what degree does she forget? Does she still remember the Star of Ruin and the battle with her?
If she still remembers, would she truly say she likes someone who ambushed her from behind, intending to kill her?
And if she has forgotten everything, then it seems she won’t provide any useful information about the Star of Ruin.
It’s quite distressing.
Alicia raised her glass and drank it down in one go.
