Chapter 103: Just like all those whitewashed female leads
It felt just like a dream.
He had spent decades chasing the figure of the Hero, but never even caught a glimpse of him. The Hero was like a gust of wind, appearing without a trace and disappearing without a sound.
This morning, Cedric came to him and said that My Lord Hero had appeared at Karashok last night. Although he didn’t show it, deep inside, he felt a deep sense of regret.
This was the closest he had been to the Hero in over thirty years; if he had gone out with Cedric to hunt the pervert last night, he would undoubtedly have seen that lord once again. But after some thought, he quickly let it go.

Kendrick had been cooking for over thirty years, and his rank as a chef had reached its maximum for over a decade. He was a hundred percent sure that the fried rice in front of him tasted exactly the same as the one he had years ago.
The seemingly young man before him was the strongest protector who had guarded the human realm for over three hundred years, the Golden Dragon Hero. However, things were happening too suddenly, and Kendrick didn’t know what to say.
“Boss, are you okay?” Alicia asked, noticing Kendrick’s strange expression, feeling somewhat puzzled.
“Oh, no… I just…” Kendrick hesitated for a moment.
“It’s just that this fried rice is really too delicious; it might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. ”
“Boss, you’re joking; after all, it’s just a bowl of fried rice. The ingredients set its maximum flavor limit, and that’s about it. ”
“I’ve heard that the chef of Nightmoon Tavern is a super chef with a maximum rank, but with this level of deliciousness, it probably wouldn’t even catch your eye.”
Kendrick slowly shook his head, “I’m certainly not joking. For me, this is the most delicious dish in the world.” Kendrick picked up a spoon and took big mouthfuls of the fried rice. In less than a minute, the entire bowl was cleaned out by Kendrick.
“Thank you for the treat.” Kendrick slightly bowed to Alicia.
“Sorry for the inadequate reception.” Kendrick’s somewhat excited expression surprised Alicia, but she couldn’t figure out why, so she had to pretend not to see it.
Kendrick gazed deeply at Alicia. Though he was very glad to see that lord again, he also didn’t understand how his little restaurant could attract My Lord Hero to work here. After thinking it over, he realized there was only one possibility – the job was just a facade; My Lord Hero might be using the worker’s identity to do some more secretive things. But what exactly were those secretive things… Kendrick looked again at Alicia, “May I ask why you came here to work?”
“Of course, it’s for travel expenses,” Alicia smiled slightly. “My resume also states that I’m a traveler. I’ve run out of money, so I want to stay here for a while, save enough money, and continue my journey.”
“I see.” Kendrick gently responded.
He knew it was a lie but didn’t plan to expose it. If My Lord Hero was unwilling to tell the truth, it must be for his own reasons. If Kendrick pried too much, he might ruin his plans.
So Kendrick decided to pretend he knew nothing. As long as he could do his part to help that lord, he would be satisfied.
“I understand,” Kendrick nodded gently, then smiled as he extended his right hand toward Alicia, “Mr. Alicia, congratulations, you’ve been accepted. Welcome to Nightmoon Tavern.”
Alicia’s heart jumped in joy as she quickly extended her right hand and politely shook hands with Kendrick, “Thank you.”
Kendrick smiled slightly and then looked toward the door, raising his voice slightly, “Alright, ladies, stop peeking and come in to meet your new colleague.”
Outside the door.
“Yay! The handsome guy succeeded! I knew he could do it!” Lilith shouted, striding directly into the kitchen.
“Che,” Luna clicked her tongue, grumbling, “How did Kendrick accept him? With four beautiful women at home, isn’t he afraid of inviting a wolf into the house?”
Elrose smiled at Luna’s words, patted her shoulder, and gently comforted her, “Don’t worry, Luna. I’m here. I will protect you.”
“Who needs your protection?” Luna shot a glare at Elrose, irritated. “If that guy is really a pervert, then the one who is most lovable and the most dangerous in this house—you don’t have any self-awareness?”
Upon hearing this, Elrose quickly hugged Stella beside her and said earnestly, “Stella, don’t worry. Sister will protect you too.”
“Hey, I’m not talking about Stella,” Luna said irritably. “To be honest, I have a feeling that guy is here for you.”
“Here for me?” Elrose paused slightly, then suddenly smiled widely, “Luna, stop joking. He’s just here looking for a job; it’s not as exaggerated as you say.”
Luna exclaimed indignantly, “I’m not joking!”
“I know, I know,” Elrose laughed. “Oh, you don’t need to worry. If he’s here for me, then it’s fine. It’s not like it’s the first time.”
“Do you remember what happened to those guys who dared to have bad intentions against me?” Elrose said with a cold smile, then gestured across her neck with her thumb, “If that stinky man tries anything, I’ll take him down in a heartbeat.”
Saying this, Elrose comfortingly patted Luna’s shoulder and strode into the kitchen.
As she walked, she pondered over that young man’s handsome face.
That face… it looks so familiar. It really seems like I’ve seen it somewhere before.
But there’s always something not right that prevents her brain from retrieving the correct information.
Huh? His hair color is so unique; it’s actually blue and white.
Have I seen this hair color somewhere before? Blue and white, blue and white, blue and white…
Elrose thought deeply. Suddenly.

The two looked at each other, both slightly blushing.
At that moment, time seemed to stand still.
Luna stood at the door, gritting her teeth, “Damn, I was careless again.”
Lilith stood behind Alicia, looking enviously, “Wah, I want to be hugged by a handsome guy too.”
Kendrick was slightly stunned, “Truly worthy of My Lord Hero, his reflexes and speed are astonishing; it’s really terrifying.”
Stella’s eyes widened in surprise, “This… this fall, I felt the power of fate.”
The two people involved, however, couldn’t help but frown.
Elrose touched her head, right on the spot she had just leaned on Alicia, “Do men’s chests feel this soft?”
Alicia touched her stomach, and her expression gradually grew dark, “Damn, Heart-E, it’s about to act up again.”
