Chapter 254: Night Talk
“Ah, I’m so full~”
As soon as the rental apartment door opened, Hei Dou cradled her bloated belly, swaying as she took off her shoes and stumbled inside.
The moment her feet hit the tiled floor, she suddenly collapsed, lying flat on her stomach, too lazy to even move.
Ning Chu stepped over her, complaining, “Can you not act like a cat for once? Go lay on the bed.”

After dinner, Mother had taken them shopping, buying plenty of autumn and winter clothes for Hei Dou and Ning Chu.
“Mom, are you taking Hei Dou to take a bath?”

Mother squatted down, poking Hei Dou’s reluctant face: “If you stay dirty, your sister won’t like you anymore.”
“I hate taking baths…”
Wen Yang, trapped outside by Mother and Hei Dou, looked at Ning Chu helplessly and handed the shopping bags inside: “I’m heading back to the dorm after this.”
“Yeah, Shao Qing is going back to the dorm tonight too. Help me see how badly he got beaten up.”
“I also bought some goji berries to take to Wang Jie for him to brew~”

But Wen Yang was still worried about his own situation, nodding gloomily: “Aunt, can I leave now?”
“Go ahead.”
Future mother-in-law wasn’t trying to keep him.

After sending Wen Yang off, Ning Chu closed the door and turned around, only to see Mother standing up, looking at her with a somewhat strange smile.
She immediately realized the night might not go well for her.
“He’s taking good care of you, right?”

“I’m going to take a shower first; I feel all sticky.” Ning Chu’s cheeks flushed slightly as she hurried towards the wardrobe, calling out to Hei Dou, “Hei Dou! Come wash up with your sister!”
“I’m so full~ I can’t move~”

Reluctantly, Hei Dou got up, pouting with a face full of grievance.
Ning Chu usually only took ten to twenty minutes to shower, but helping Hei Dou took over forty minutes.
As soon as this cat touched water, she clung to her like a tree kangaroo.
After tussling for a long time, Ning Chu finally emerged from the bathroom in a long nightgown.
Her tail peeked out from under the dress, standing upright, fearing Hei Dou would pounce on it like a toy.
“Mom, did you bring a change of clothes?”
“Just wear yours.”
“Uh…” So, Ning Chu pulled out a short nightgown from the wardrobe and handed it to her mother.
Mother accepted it casually and went into the bathroom.
It was still early; Ning Chu sat down at the computer. She should’ve been writing her novel at this hour, but with her mother around, she had to post a chapter from her earlier drafts instead.
While blowing her hair dry, she turned to look at Hei Dou lying on the bed, playing with her own tail.
“Hei Dou, you’re leaving tomorrow.”
“Mm.”
“Don’t cause too much trouble after you leave; I don’t want Mom to dislike you.” Ning Chu cautioned, “You might have to go to school afterward, don’t bully your classmates.”
“I know~”
Ning Chu was really worried about Hei Dou’s studies. Despite looking like she was ten, Hei Dou should be in the fourth grade by now, but she didn’t even have kindergarten level knowledge.
After all, she used to be a cat and had never been to school.

Ning Chu laid on the bed, petting Hei Dou’s head to comfort her: “I’m coming back in two months; it’s not that I want to get rid of you.”

Hei Dou looked less enthusiastic. She lay sideways on the bed, losing her usual carefree demeanor.
This brought Ning Chu’s mood down too; she could only stroke the little cat girl’s head, not sure how to console her.
After finishing her shower, Mother sat at the head of the bed. Her tail swayed, quickly capturing Hei Dou’s attention. The cat’s eyes followed the little heart at the end of the tail, ready to leap.
“Mom, be careful.”
The tail was sensitive; if Hei Dou bit it, it’d probably hurt enough to make her tear up.
“It’s fine.” Mother leaned against the wall, not caring if her dress was too short. She asked Ning Chu, “Are you serious about Wen Yang?”
“Eh… why are you bringing him up again?” Ning Chu sighed, looking down and playing with her nails, muttering, “Of course, it’s serious. What else could it be?”
Mother scrutinized her, slightly frowning: “So he… doesn’t have any problems, right?”
“Problems?”
Ning Chu froze for a moment, then her face turned beet red. She quickly shook her head: “No no, I don’t let him touch me…”
“You’re quite conservative.”
She thought Mother’s tone was a bit cheeky. It had only been a few weeks, and she’d already been thoroughly invaded, just not in the last step.
That hardly counted as conservative.
But if viewed from a succubus’ perspective… it was indeed a bit conservative not to devour the man right after starting a relationship.

Seeing her daughter like this, Mother could only shake her head and sigh: “We’re not doing badly either; there’s no need to find a poor kid and suffer.”
