Chapter 117: Early Morning
When Ning Chu woke up in the morning, her head was still foggy.
Her face had a rosy hue as she hazily recalled the scenes from her dream.
It had been a long time since she dreamed about boys… Obviously, although she forcefully suppressed her impulses last night, they spilled over into her dreams.
“What to do now~”
She sat up, rubbed the corners of her eyes, and looked at Wen Yang, who was sleeping opposite her with their feet facing each other.
Thinking about last night’s situation made her feel a wave of embarrassment, causing her to quickly lower her head, climb down from the bed, and rush to the balcony to wash up.
As soon as she opened the door, the cold air outside startled her, making her take two steps back.
“Is it getting colder?”
It’s great that it’s colder; she can wear a jacket to cover up her chest more perfectly.
Ning Chu turned around, was about to grab Wen Yang’s sleep shirt to put on, but paused, then walked to Wen Yang’s wardrobe and switched to a different nightgown.
It was a bit dirty; she’ll have Wen Yang wash it later.
Let him wear it for a couple more days to soak up some of that protagonist’s halo.
Wearing Wen Yang’s nightgown, Ning Chu went to the balcony to wash up, letting out sighs uncontrollably.
“Sucubus~”
While brushing her teeth, she turned her head to look at the gloomy sky and lamented: “The chances of it being given for free are getting higher.”
Even though her mind resisted, her body just wouldn’t quit misbehaving.
“Looking on the bright side, if the plot really gets triggered, I should be able to handle it without falling apart…”
Well, that certainly doesn’t seem good!
Ning Chu spat out the foam in her mouth and frowned deeply.
In the books, the protagonists had clashed several times with succubi, and although the succubi were quite seductive, their sensitivity made them quick to fall apart.
This resulted in the succubi fighting the protagonist usually collapsing in one blow, with few capable of lasting even a round against him.
“Let’s just take it one step at a time.”
After washing up, she splashed cold water on her face, and her brain started to wake up a bit more.
She took out her phone and opened the chat history with Yan Xinya.
“I’ve arranged it for you! Tomorrow morning at nine, at the café off-campus?”
She only saw this message now, as she had gone to bed early last night.
A café…
Why’d she choose that place?
Thinking of that rich lady who could make her eyesight financially free with just a glance, her head started to ache again.
“Up this early?”
Ning Chu was startled and dropped her phone; luckily, Wen Yang’s quick reflexes allowed him to catch it as it fell.
“What were you thinking that could startle me?”
She took the phone back from him, looked up at Wen Yang’s smiling eyes, and a wave of unnatural redness washed over her face. Feeling guilty, she quickly averted her gaze and softly replied: “Um… nothing.”
Just remembering last night made that embarrassment flood her again, leaving her feeling flustered and without a clue about what to say.
Seeing her looking shyly with her legs crossed, Wen Yang’s smile grew warmer and more affectionate.
“By the way, later, accompany me to that café off-campus.” Ning Chu lowered her head, walked past Wen Yang, “Hurry and get ready so we can head out early.”
“Okay.”
Having to talk to Lily about suppressing her feelings in front of Wen Yang… It was pretty embarrassing, but she couldn’t wear Wen Yang’s nightgown to blend into the protagonist’s aura. The choice was to let him tag along.
Also, she just needed to keep Wen Yang at a distance so he wouldn’t overhear them.
Wait, does this mean Wen Yang will interact with the succubus Lily? That could trigger the plot?!
What if she gets punished in the café…
“Wen Yang.” Ning Chu anxiously turned back, not considering her sense of shame as she poked her head out of the dorm, “When we get to the café, you just sit at an outside table, don’t come inside with me.”
“Huh?”
“We need to talk about some private matters… I’m afraid you’ll overhear.”
Wen Yang paused, teasingly asked: “What private matters that I can’t hear?”
“…”
Ning Chu didn’t answer and turned back inside.
As the cold air drifted south, today’s temperature dropped suddenly by about ten degrees.
She rummaged through her luggage to pull out a spring/autumn jacket to wear, standing before the mirror, zipping it up and assessing her reflection.
The loose jacket covered her curves, and with her already flat chest, she looked like a washboard at first glance.
Turning to the side, she could finally see a subtle curve at her chest.
Unfortunately, even though it concealed her figure, her petite stature, paired with her youthful and pretty face, made anyone who looked at her perceive her as a girl.
And indeed, she was a girl…
Over the past week, Ning Chu had no choice but to reluctantly accept this reality.
She had once looked forward to marrying a pretty beast-eared lady, but now she could only resist the plot that would unfold, and her goal had shifted from continuing as a man to avoiding trouble.
In the future… A stable, solitary life would be just fine too.
Ning Chu picked out a pair of jeans, then turned and headed to the bathroom to change out of her shorts.
Due to the hot weather, she had been wearing shorts, but upon putting on the jeans, she discovered that because of her thighs and backside, the pants that used to be a bit loose now barely fit.
Maybe it was also the cut’s fault, since these were men’s jeans, and her figure had already become indistinguishable from that of a girl.
After forcing her jeans on, she lifted her legs; the tightness made her worry that any sudden movements would make the pants burst open.
“I don’t have any other long pants… I’ll just wear these for now.”
Ning Chu mumbled as she walked out of the bathroom, urging Wen Yang, who was still washing up: “Hurry up.”
“Okay.”
Wen Yang subconsciously glanced at Ning Chu, but found himself drawn to that nicely rounded little backside.
Seeing that snugly fitted butt and thighs, every step she took made it sway slightly.
Unfortunately, Ning Chu quickly noticed it and pulled her jacket down to cover half her backside.
Wen Yang rubbed his nose and dried his face before following her into the room.
He noticed that Ning Chu kept avoiding his gaze, her face constantly flushed, clearly still embarrassed about last night.
Though he wanted to comfort her by telling her he didn’t care, he couldn’t figure out how to express it…
Would it be weird to say: “It’s okay; feeling things is perfectly normal”?
“We’re leaving.” Ning Chu, head down, hurried out of the dorm, “Let’s stop by the cafeteria for breakfast.”
“Okay… What are we going for?”
Ning Chu usually kept to herself, not having much of a social life outside of classes, often hiding in her dorm.
Not wanting to conceal anything, she explained: “I need to discuss a few things with Lily, just keep your distance and don’t try to charm her.”
“Lily?”
Wen Yang genuinely didn’t understand what Ning Chu could possibly talk about with Lily.
The last times he ran into Lily at the library, Ning Chu looked as if she’d seen a ghost, either dragging him off or glaring at Lily like a thief.
How did these two end up together?
