Chapter 12: Class Committee
The entire day, Ning Chu was in a daze.
Maybe his head was stuffed with yellow waste material from last night, or perhaps he just thought too much before bed. In short, he didn’t sleep well at all; the moment he dozed off, nightmares flooded in.
He dreamt he turned into a woman, with Wen Yang and Zhang Shaoqing flanking him as his guys.
How terrifying…
Usually, if he woke up in the middle of a dream, he could never fall back asleep, but last night’s nightmares picked up right where they left off whenever he dozed off again.
That left him feeling groggy all night long.
“Damn it…”
Ning Chu’s brain was a total mess; after muddling through military training, he followed his classmates into the teaching building’s D203 classroom.
It was an unremarkable classroom with dozens of desks and chairs strewn about.
Ning Chu randomly picked a spot and plopped down, resting his head on the desk, half-opening his eyes to gaze at the counselor on stage.
“Let me introduce myself again, just in case some of you have forgotten.”
The counselor turned around and wrote his name and phone number on the blackboard: “If it’s something small, message me in the group; if it’s something big, just call me directly.”
Han Jingye? Nice name, he looked quite refined and sharp-dressed.
Just wondering if any of those behind-the-scenes shenanigans with girls were happening in the plot.
“Next, anyone running for the class committee, please come up to give a speech.”
Yawning, Ning Chu turned his head and rested his face on the cool desk surface.
If it weren’t for his suspicions about Han Jingye, he wouldn’t care about the class committee at all.
“Wen Yang.”
“Hmm?” Wen Yang, sitting at the same table as Ning Chu, glanced down at the plump face squished against the desk.
After a moment, he continued, “If you become a class committee member, keep an eye out for any girls interacting with the counselor.”
“Oh? Looking to fall in love? Why does it have to be with the counselor?”
Ning Chu found it hard to explain his unfounded suspicions to Wen Yang, so he just softly replied, “Yeah…”
Then he offered no excuses, simply responding to Wen Yang’s confusion with silence.
“Why don’t you give it a shot too? Being a class committee member is pretty good for practice; you’re a bit introverted.”
“No thanks.”
With a bunch of chaotic matters to sort through, he had no business in the class committee.
Although he did contemplate getting close to Han Jingye, wasn’t Wen Yang enough for now?
Just as Ning Chu imagined, once Wen Yang stepped up to run for the class committee, the result was already determined.
Unsurprisingly, Wen Yang became class leader, paired up with a “wolf girl” and a friendly guy as vice leaders.
Ning Chu was only interested in the wolf girl; look at that fluffy big tail~ When he discovered she became vice leader, her tail wagged like a toy windmill, and even from a few meters away, the breeze it created brushed against Ning Chu’s face. Even a fan couldn’t do that!
“Vice leader is pretty good, huh?” Zhang Shaoqing leaned over, nudging Ning Chu with his shoulder and sporting a knowing grin like a pervert, “Look at that abdominal muscle line~ Look at those thighs~”
“Ugh… one punch and I’d be dead.”
That little tank top and hot pants showcased the wolf girl’s figure to perfection, but Ning Chu seriously doubted she could drop him with one punch.
The wolf ears perked up, and suddenly, the wolf girl looked right at him.
Hiss~ Those ears are so sharp?
Feeling cornered, he quickly ducked down behind Wang Jie.
“Don’t be scared.” Zhang Shaoqing grinned at the wolf girl, “Hey, what was her name again?”
“Beats me, I didn’t pay attention during their speeches.”
He had almost dozed off not long ago.
“Serves you right for talking about her behind her back.”
“I was just joking… Besides, isn’t talking about her figure even worse?”
“I was complimenting her.”
Fortunately, the wolf girl didn’t seem to care about their comments. She shook her ears and continued chatting with her friends while wagging her tail.
Ning Chu finally let out a sigh of relief. Just looking at her tall figure alongside that visible abdominal muscle line made him feel like a frail little thing.
Not manly at all.
He was too lazy to complain about his looks and didn’t invoke fitness changes.
If it weren’t for the possibility of becoming a girl in this world, he’d just be a carefree salted fish.
Besides, even if he turned into a muscle man at 1.6m tall, it wouldn’t be that impressive.
“Alright, the three committee members stay, the rest can go back.”
Once Han Jingye spoke up, the students erupted into chaos, rushing towards the door.
“Class meetings will basically be fixed here from now on…”
Before he could finish, only the three new committee members and a yawning Ning Chu—who had just gotten up from his desk—remained.
He blinked his fuzzy eyes, looking around in confusion before finally settling his gaze on Wen Yang.
“Wait for me; we can go to the cafeteria together.”
“Okay.”
Ning Chu sat back down, resting his face in his arms, pretending to nap, but was actually all ears, listening attentively to Han Jingye and the committee’s discussions, afraid he’d miss some important detail.
Last night, Ning Chu had meticulously searched through the book for plot points about the counselor and found only a brief section about shady dealings.
The plot was roughly: the counselor used scholarships as leverage to persuade a gifted girl to willingly submit.
The key was such leverage like a scholarship…
What a scumbag!
“Tonight, collect your information and fill out the forms to send to me.”
“Starting tomorrow, Wen Yang will be responsible for taking attendance; report any latecomers to me.”
“During military training, buy two boxes of water and bread every day; get more if it’s not enough. By the way, I bought a sun umbrella; you can pick it up from the office tomorrow; it’ll provide shade during breaks.”
“……”
Didn’t catch anything particularly valuable… Honestly, found this counselor to be quite dedicated?
“Let’s go.” Wen Yang lightly tapped on the desk with his knuckles, “Finished talking; let’s eat.”
“You didn’t sleep well last night? You looked dazed all day.”
Ning Chu yawned and straightened up, stretching his arms high above his head: “Yeah, I didn’t sleep well at all.”
While he was replying to Wen Yang, he couldn’t help but keep an eye on Han Jingye.
In fact, since the start of the class meeting, he had been scrutinizing Han Jingye’s expressions, trying to figure out which girls caught his interest.
Hmm, why does he keep staring at me?
Ning Chu stood up, quickening his pace to catch up with Wen Yang, quietly asking, “Did you notice? The counselor keeps looking at me.”
“Maybe he’s wondering why a girl is in a boys’ dormitory?”
“……”
Wen Yang chuckled and looked down at Ning Chu’s clean, youthful face: “With your height and looks, it’d be odd if others didn’t notice you.”
“Fair point.”
“You seem especially concerned about the counselor?”
Ning Chu paused, “Is it that obvious?”
“Yeah… You don’t like him, do you?”
“I… cough! Cough!”
Ning Chu nearly choked on his words, turning red with anger after a long pause as he finally retorted, irritated.
“I like WOMEN!”
Why is Wen Yang, this honest guy, suddenly teasing him? Must’ve been corrupted by Zhang Shaoqing!
