Chapter 86: Citywide Manhunt
On the other side, at the Nightmoon Tavern’s second floor, Lilith stood by the window of Stella’s room, looking down at everything below. Seeing Kendrick and the others quickly subdue the pervert in just a few moves, she couldn’t help but praise, “Nice! Well done!”
“Come on, they’re all A-Class adventurers. If they can’t even handle a petty pervert stealing underwear, they might as well give up,” Luna said.
Elrose casually threw on a garment and glared down below, gritting her teeth, “That raccoon, daring to steal my panties, I’ll definitely take him down later.”
The three of them were focused on what was happening below and completely missed the worried expression on Stella’s face nearby.
“This isn’t good.”
Alicia looked at everyone with a hint of desperation.
As the guardian of the human realm for over three hundred years, she naturally had ways to turn the situation around, but those methods were too violent and would harm the people in front of her.
Today’s events were not her responsibility to begin with, and she didn’t want to hurt anyone.
To be honest, Alicia really couldn’t bring herself to do such a thing.
But she couldn’t just sit back and wait for disaster to strike, either.
Just as Alicia was feeling troubled,
“Ah!”
A loud scream suddenly came from the second floor of the Nightmoon Tavern.
Stella! Everyone instantly recognized the voice’s owner.
Kendrick’s expression changed, and he quickly turned to shout at the second floor of the Nightmoon Tavern, “Stella, what’s wrong?”
At that moment, Lilith leaned out of the second-floor window and shouted down, “Kendrick, it’s nothing. Stella accidentally stepped on a shard of glass on the floor.”
Hearing this, Kendrick instantly sighed in relief.
But, in the next moment,
“Bastard, don’t let him get away.”
Ischer’s voice rang out, and Kendrick quickly turned his head, only to see that everyone’s attention had been momentarily drawn to Stella, allowing the pervert to slip away over a hundred meters.
“Chase!”
Cedric shouted, leading everyone to pursue the direction Alicia had run.
At the Nightmoon Tavern, first floor.
“Seriously, Stella, how can you be so careless?”
Lilith reproached Stella, gently holding her little foot and, after a bit of disinfection, lightly wrapped it with gauze.
“Hehe.” Stella smiled innocently.
“Still smiling.” Lilith shot Stella a glare and said, “You stepped on a shard of glass, bled so much, and you can still laugh.”
“Hehe, of course, I have to laugh.” Stella grinned again, then said somewhat mysteriously, “Sister Lilith, let me tell you a secret. That step I took just now was equivalent to saving the world.”
“Huh?” The corners of Lilith’s mouth twitched slightly; she reached out her right hand to gently touch Stella’s forehead, “No fever? Why are you talking nonsense?”
But in the next moment, Lilith suddenly recalled something and smiled slightly, “Oh, right, you’re eleven now; you might be coming of age soon.”
“Coming of age?” Stella asked, puzzled, “What are you talking about, Sister Lilith?”
“Nothing.” Lilith reached out to pat Stella’s little head, smiling gently, “Youthful years, passionate souls; who wasn’t a bit melodramatic when they were a budding girl?”
“Melodramatic, girl?”
Just as Stella was confused, Elrose and Luna came downstairs with a broom and mop.
“The blood and shards of glass in the room have been cleaned up,” Elrose said gently to Stella.
“Thank you, Angelic Onee-san.”
Elrose smiled and nodded, then glanced at the clock on the wall, frowning slightly, “Kendrick and the others have been chasing for a long time; I hope nothing serious has happened.”
“Something serious shouldn’t happen; it’s late at night, pitch black, and with that pervert’s skill, he looks like a habitual offender. Kendrick and the others might not catch him,” Luna said.
“Is that so?” Elrose sighed softly, but she didn’t feel too down. In her heart, she had already made up her mind. If Kendrick couldn’t catch him, she would transform to do it herself, so no matter what, that bastard was dead tonight.
In that moment, Elrose was contemplating whether to steam, fry, or braise that pervert once she caught him.
“Dingling!”
With a crisp ringing sound, the door of the Nightmoon Tavern opened, and Kendrick and the others slowly walked into the front hall of the restaurant.
Luna hurriedly stepped forward, “Kendrick, where’s that pervert?”
Kendrick sighed heavily, “He got away.”
“Ah, he really got away?!”
Luna was a bit shocked, “You guys couldn’t catch him with so many of you.”
“It’s not about the number of people.” Cedric explained on the side, “It’s simply that he was faster.”
Ischer slammed her hand on the table and shouted, “Damn it, is that guy a monster? I had poison on my arrows; how could he run so fast?”
“Maybe he just happened to have an antidote on him,” Edwin said.
“Ugh.” Kendrick sighed heavily again and then looked at Elrose apologetically, “I’m sorry, Elrose, we couldn’t catch that pervert.”
Elrose immediately shook her head and smiled, “No, no, no need to apologize; as long as you’re okay.”
Hearing this, Saya clasped her hands together and exclaimed tearfully, “Oh, my god, what a kind child.”
“But it’s precisely this kind child who encountered such a thing.” Saya bit her lip and then gently hugged Elrose, “Don’t be afraid, child; I promise you, we will definitely help you catch that pervert.”
“We will definitely help you catch that pervert.”
“Party Leader Cedric!” Saya shouted, “I suggest we immediately lock down Karashok and issue a citywide manhunt for that guy in white. The church will fully support this.”
“This…” Cedric furrowed his brow, “Locking down the whole town? Won’t that be too much?”
“Not too much,” Saya replied, “With such an extreme bastard lurking in town, the safety of every woman here cannot be guaranteed. We must find him.”
“Hmm, Saya is right.” Ischer nodded, “I agree with this plan. Besides, that pervert slipped away from under our noses; we should take some responsibility for that.”
“Agreed.” Edwin added, “I’ll also call the Mage Guild for help.”
Hearing this, Cedric pondered for a moment. He looked at his companions, then at Elrose.
That pure girl, as innocent as a flower, had her possessions stolen by a complete pervert, which was truly disgusting.
If not stopped, such incidents might happen again in the future.
Cedric firmly made up his mind. He picked up a communication crystal, infused it with Battle Qi, and a crisp voice rang out, “Hello, Mayor Cedric, what do you need?”
“I need to catch a mouse.” Cedric said in a deep voice, “From now on, seal off all entrances and exits in Karashok, strictly investigate incoming people. All guards should wait at the Adventurer’s Guild; tonight, I will dig three feet into the ground to find that pervert.”
